Chapter three

"Nothing suspicious so far.." Jaebum commented when the professional told him about his research on Meera. She was just a normal girl who lost her mother while giving birth to her; and father who passed away months back.

"Any significant connections?" He asked. "No sir. Her life is pretty normal." Jaebum nodded. With that the detective left.

"Just let her be Jaebum. You'll come to know in time if there is something." Jinyoung said making Jaebum sigh. He was okay being a stranger with her but after their interaction that night, he feels awkward around her. He feels uneasy and uncomfortable.

"Eomma I am back." He said while handing his blazer to one of the maids. He was early that day. "Sir, madam was calling for you. She is in her room." Jaebum nodded and went to his mother's room. On his way he saw Meera's door open and found her reading a book. He then simply passed by her room to meet his mother.

"Eomma. You called for me?" Mrs Im looked up and set aside her phone. "Come." She pat the space in front of her.

"Can you take Meera for shopping? I was supposed to go but someone called from the orphanage and I have to leave."

"Shopping?" The son asked confused.

"Her college is starting in a few days and I want her to have those college clothes that girls wear these days. She is always in her tees and demins." Mrs Im stood up and Jaebum followed her to the gates.

"But eomma.."

"I am taking the driver so you have to drive."

"Eomm-"

"Beom-ah.." she sighed and paused her movements. "..you know what she does all day?" Her voice was soft and sad.

"She locks herself in her room and cries. Its really painful to see her so broken Beom-ah. And I just want to make things easier for her. I want her to get over her past and enjoy her youth." She gave him a sad smile.

"Take care of her." She left in the car. Jaebum loosened his tie and rubbed his face. He heaved a big sigh and went to Meera's room. He knocked on her door.

"Are you ready? Lets go." Meera stood up and nodded. She fixed her hair and quietly followed him to his car. Like a gentleman, he opened the passenger door for her.

"You can play some music if you want." He said. She extended her hand and played radio. It was some random music which was better than the silence. Twenty minutes later they reached one of the famous Departmental Stores in Seoul.

They entered an expensive store where a saleslady came to them. She checked out Jaebum's body and smiled to herself.

"Can you show some clothes to her? Something in trend?" Jaebum said. "Yes. Please follow me." The duo followed that lady and sat on the couch. She then came out with a few outfits and asked Meera to try them. She took those outfits inside the changing room.

But when she came out Jaebum wasn't there.

She looked around till the saleslady came to her. "He asked you to wait for him." The girl just nodded and changed to her casual clothes to look around the store.

Little did she know that Jaebum was busy with his girlfriend.

"Oppa~ you are so busy these days." Dahyun pouted. Jaebum caressed her cheeks and planted a soft kiss on her lips. "I have to work jagi." He tried to reason with her. But before she could say something he shush her up with another mind blowing kiss.
