Meera mindlessly walked in a random direction. She wasn't concentrating on her way. She just walked and walked till loud chattering noises caught her attention. She looked around to find herself in the market.

It was early in the evening and the area was buzzing with people. The place was bright like any market would be.

Meera didn't know where she wanted to go so she ended up walking again. Her eyes went to the happy faces which made her smile herself a little. She bit her lower lip and looked down at her feet before walking again.

Why did I do that? She was regretting saying something she shouldn't have said. She shouldn't have mentioned Jaebum cheating on her. It was their personal matter and not for other people to know. Tears welled in her eyes but she somehow stopped herself from crying in the public.

It will be alright.

So busy in her thoughts she didn't realise that she reached the main road. She absentmindedly started crossing the road. A yell brought her back to reality. She looked to her right to see a car coming at a good speed.

Meera couldn't move and the car hit her from the side. She immediately fell on the road while the car stopped right near her foot. Her legs were scrapped but there wasn't anything major. Her eyes were close shut in pain as her hands automatically went to her bleeding leg.

"Oh my god!" A girl standing near the sidewalk made her way to Meera. She knelt down beside her. Quickly taking out a fresh handkerchief, she put it on wound to stop the bleeding.

"Let me call emergency." She was about to dial the number but Meera's weak voice stopped her.

"It's f-fine."

"Miss? Are you okay?!" The driver got out of the car and hurried towards the girl. He applied the breaks as quickly as possible. It wasn't his fault to begin with.

He looked at the girl hoping that she wasn't seriously injured but upon seeing her face, he knitted his brows, first in confusion and then in surprise.

"Meera?"

She slowly opened her eyes to see a familiar face. A sense of relief washed over her. She was scared that the driver would be some middle aged man who might scream at her for being careless.

"Dr Jin.."

She hissed in pain. Jin crouched down and helped her up. "Let me take you to my place. It's just a block away." Meera limped beside him as Jin tightly gripped her shoulders to support her.

The girl from before, open the car door for Meera. "Thank you so much." She thanked the stranger.

"Oh it's fine. I did what I had to." Jin thanked her too and then he drove Meera to his place. It was a quick ride.

After making sure that she was comfortable on the couch, Jin went inside one of the rooms to get the medical supplies. Meera was fiddling with her fingers. She shifted in her place as her eyes went around the lavish apartment. It was modern and spacious. She looked at the multiple photo frames on one side of the wall. She saw a little boy with Jin.

His son?

"Does Jabeum know that you're here?"

Jin's voice snapped her back to reality. She licked her lips in nervousness and then slowly shook her head. Jin nodded in understanding.
