Meera sighed loudly for the nth time as she looked deep into the pool. She was sitting on the edge with her legs dangling halfway in the water. She picked up her phone to read the message again.

Jungkook: are you free tomorrow? We can go out for my project. :)

She wanted to go out and help me. As a friend. But her heart was somewhat scared. She knew that she has some feelings left for him. And the more time she spends with Jungkook, the more difficult it gets for her to get over it. But she cannot avoid him altogether, they're friends.

She sighed again.

"What's up with all these sighs?" She was startled at the sudden voice. She turned her torso to see Jaebum coming towards her. He placed a beer can by his side and sat next to her. He rolled up his pants to his knees and dipped his legs in the water.

"Welcome home." He was still in his work clothes. It was around 9pm when he came back. All he wanted was a nice drink but he saw Meera by the pool and decided to join her.

"What are you thinking?" He asked before sipping his beer casually. She looked down and shook her head. "Nothing much." Her fingers were busy playing with the hem of her pyjama shorts.

"Cmon." He gave her an awkward friendly smile. It wasn't easy for him but he wanted to try. For her.

"I offered to help Jungkook for his assignment. He asked me if I am free tomorrow." She finally said it. She looked at him to know how he felt about it.

"So what did you say?" He asked looking at the pool. "I didn't reply yet." She pressed her lips together. She turned to look at Jaebum. "Can I go?" Her words seemed soft and hesitant.

"Do you want to go?" He asked back. He didn't like the idea of her asking for permission to go out with a friend. He was an open minded person and was completely okay if his wife went out with a male friend. He met Jungkook a couple of times and he seemed a nice young man in his eyes.

"I want to help him. But I won't go if you say no." A sadness reflected on her face with the thought of not being able to help Jungkook. She didn't help him before and the guilt was still inside her heart.

"Then don't go. Stay at home tomorrow." Jaebum didn't mean those words. He just wanted to see her reaction. He wanted to see how she will handle this situation. He expected her to be sad or say something to change his mind.

"Okay." She sadly replied and nodded. She wanted to be a good and an obedient wife and not go against him. Her heart was burdened with the thought of Jungkook but then she mustn't do anything that her husband doesn't want her to do.

"What will you say to him?" He asked again. A little amused.

"I'll think about something. Don't worry. I won't go." She gave him a small smile. But Jaebum knew better. He knew that smile was a fake one even though it looked genuine.

He was beginning to know her.

Jaebum sighed loudly and took the last sip of his beer. He turned to look at her who was blankly looking at the pool water.

"Meera?"

"Yes?" She looked at him. He deeply stared into her eyes for a better communication. He hoped for her to understand things that we wanted to say to her.
