Woody
"Who was that and where you bout to go?""Dang man, are you my lady or my brother?"
"Both now answer the question."
Jayceon replied in a girly voice making us both burst out laughing.
"Nah man but for real though where you about to head out to?"
"I just gotta take care of some business real quick across town."
"Oh that's cool I can roll with you."
"Nah that's cool man I have to go to a lot of different places and you know how irritated you get when you be riding around a lot."
"Yeah you right you right. Well I'll just catch up with you later then."
"Yeah no doubt."
We both slapped hands with each other and gave each other a man hug.
"Be safe bro."
"Always."
I left out of the barbershop, texting Simone on where to meet me as I walked towards my car.
I could've been honest and told Jay who was on the phone and where I was going but after I talked bad about Si to him last night I couldn't do it. He was just going to nag me about it and I wouldn't hear the end of it. Plus you know how the older siblings get when the younger siblings are done wrong by someone.
I pulled up to the car wash and I saw Simone's car on the left side of me. I saw she had her window up so I made the move to get out of my car and go to her car. I knocked on the window so she could unlock the door and she did.
"You didn't have to rush off the phone with your little boyfriend, I wasn't going to be in here long."
"Woody don't even-"
"You got that mail for me?"
"...yeah it's in my purse. Excuse me."
She picked her purse up from beside my feet, putting it on her lap and took out a while envelope.
"Here you go."
"Thank you."
"Woody wait."
"What Simone? I got places to be."
"N-never mind. Drive safe."
"You too."
I got out of her car and walked to mine. When I opened my door I saw her reversing and driving onto the street. I know I was probably rude when I talked to her but I just found out she cheated last night and it's kind of hard to forgive and forget when I just found out last night.
I sat in my car and read Stacy's letter which said nothing but that she was coming down here for Thanksgiving and she was giving me some details about what we talked about the last time I was in L.A.
"Hello."
"Instead of writing me, why didn't you call or text like normal people?"
"Because I didn't want to call or text, I wanted to write a letter and I'm guessing you got it."
"Yeah I got it. Where are you staying for the week?"
"With my grandma, my cousin, Aaron and I are going to stay they night with her until the rest of the family can come down."
"Oh okay. You know once ma dukes finds out you coming to town she's going to want to see you."
"Oh and I want to see her too. I already planned to come over there for the holiday and get some of her famous dressing."
"Your husband and kids coming with you?"
"Nah him and the kids are going to spend it with his side of the family and I told them that I'm spending the holidays with mine."
"Okay well I can't wait to see you and you know the fam can't wait to see you."
"I know." She chuckled. "Hey Wood I'll talk to you later, I have to get back to work."
"Alright talk to you later."
We ended the call and I put the letter in my glove compartment and then I left the car wash heading to my mom's house.
