You didn't love the outdoors. You didn't hate it either. Nature is one of the fine things in life, but sometimes it can be a bitch. Today though was an exception. The entire forest was calm and peaceful. Several red flags there from nearly walking into a bear trap to disturbing a beehive, it was all good. The view of the mountains were glorious and the weather was good.
It wasn't until then you forgot that you were all camping. Your husband Gilbert and his brother Ludwig made a recreational family get together, and since you haven't seen Gilbert for so long, due to his work, you couldn't say no to the oppurtunity to spend time with him and his family. It still amazes you how calm Gilbert can be with his ex-girlfriend who married his cousin. And you were surprised that you both became fast friends at your engagement party.
When night fell, you already had painted two pieces and charcoal sketchs of your husband and his relatives. It amazes you how you could get every detail right with him, but not on others.
The creases on his face when he smiles. The shape of his lips, especially his cupid's bow. Whenever he arches his brow. His cute pouts and frowns. That sharp jawline. The shape of his bright ruby eyes with his barely visible eye bags. Every little detail was there. It made you smile.
Your sketchpad was full of your charcoal portraits of him and his family. His brother Ludwig with his husband and daughter. Roderiech with his wife and son. A couples' trip. It was such a romantic rendevous at some points, but not everyone can actually do those things because of the two children brought.
Somehow the children made you miss something, rather it made you feel a bit lacking. It was funny how you didn't want them at first, but now that you've hung out with your niece and nephew it somehow changed your mind a bit. There wouldn't be much time for children all the time anyways. Gilbert had his work as a CEO at their family business and you traveled the world often for your projects and the show you had on National Geographic Channel. But you knew Gilbert wanted kids. He was a family guy. Hr grew up as the eldest son among his relatives and that meant he took care of almost everyone of his cousin as a child at least once.
"You know what, fuck it." You whispered to yourself and stood up from the stump you were sitting on by the fire.
"Have you guys seen Gilbert?" You asked the group.
"He went back to your tent." Ludwig replied as he played with his daughter, who was on his shoulders. "He wanted to get some sleep since he tired himself out from hiking to the three falls with the guide here."
You whistled and remembered that you took that time to venture through the forest by yourself.
"Thanks." You bid everyone a good night before going to your tent.
You walked to the last tent on the right. A simple camping tent. You mentally laughed at his business partners who thought he hated getting himself under the sun or dirty because of being an albino. It would be funny if they found out that he was a great camper and loves to go on an adventure.
"Yo, why the hell didn't you say yoy were sleeping already?" You entered the tent and zipped the entrance once you were inside.
Right after you finished zipping it up, you were grabbed by the arm from behind. The next thing you knew, you were on the sleeping bags on the floor.
"Gil, what the-"
"Shhhh... you don't want them to hear us." He hushed you softly as you froze beneath him.
It was too dark to see, yet you could tell what the look on his face was. From the tone of his voice and his delicate touches, it was obvious. He needed you.
