Chapter Forty ~ Unedited

Nikki's POV

Everything had settled down after Tyler woke up. The family was back together. Our life was just starting.

I tried to avoid everyone for a while. Trying to gather my thoughts on everything. How would i tell them that I'm leaving? How would Tyler react to this?

"I knew I'd find you here."

I turned to look at mum, her hair was short, almost like mine. "How did you know i would be here?"

We were currently sitting in the woods, on this huge rock.

"When you were younger, every time something was on your mind, you would run off to the woods" she explained grabbing ahold of my hand.

"I guess i haven't really changed huh" i muttered smiling.

"Nikki, you don't have to come. I understand that your mate is here and leaving him will be the hardest thing ever..."

"Mom, i want to go with you. I cant just leave you alone. We're finally together and I'm not going to let anything separate us. Okay?"

She looked over at me and smiled sadly, "I don't know how long its going to take Nikki. It could take months, it could take years..."

"Mom i don't care. I want to find them. I want to be reunited with them. I want to see everyone again."

Mother laid her head on my shoulder. A silence engulfed us but it was nice.

Just a daughter and a mother enjoying each other's company.

I walked into Scarlett's room, fully aware that she was with Tyler.

Tyler looked at me, with a huge smile on his face "Nikki hey."

I smiled at him and sat down on the bed with them.

"Scarlett Tyler, i have to tell you guys something" i began. My eyes avoided their gazes. I couldn't.

Scarlett placed a hand onto my should and squeezed it.

"We know already Nikki." She confirmed.

I looked up at them, they were both smiling sadly.

"How?"

"Your mom told us."

"You're not mad?" I asked with a trembling voice.

Scarlett shook her head, "No, we understand that you have to do his."

"When are you leaving?" Tyler asked, looking at me with a small smile.

"Tonight" i answered.

Scarlett got up and walked away. Leaving me and Tyler alone.

"Tyler,I'm sorry.."

"You'll come back right" he asked looking up at me.

I nodded my head, "I don't know when but i will come back Tyler."

There was a silence but he soon broke it, "When you come back i want to tell you something. Something important."

I looked up at him and nodded my head, "I want to tell you something too. So please wait for me."

He opened his arms and i jumped into them, hugging him tightly.

Tyler slowly laid on the bed and i just continued to hug him.

Night came sooner than I could've anticipated. Mother was thanking everyone for taking care of me and promised to bring me back.

"You're welcome here any time Nikki. You and your pack" Valeria explained hugging me.

I nodded my head and continued to hug everyone.

"I'm sorry i was so cruel, but please come back" Racheal pleaded smiling at me.

Lui began to cry but hugged me along with the children from the pack.

Lizzy smiled at me and hugged me tightly, "You're part of our family now Lizzy."

Jay ruffled my hair and smiled at me, "Thank you."

Scarlett hugged me tightly and cried a bit into my shoulder, "We're going to miss you Nikki. Please come back."

Tyler was last. He held his arms out and i hugged him tightly. We pulled away and he smiled down at me.

"Promise you'll wait for me. I don't know how long i will take but promise you'll wait for me" i begged, tearing up a bit.

Tyler kissed my forehead and nodded his head, "I'll wait for as long as I have to Nikki. Just please come back to me."

I nodded my head, "I will Tyler."

And with that we separated.

I hopped into the car with my mother, a small smile on my face.

Mom started the car and began to drive. Every one began to wave, some crying and others smiling brightly at me.

I popped my head about the window, "Tyler don't forget, when i come back I'll tell you."

Tyler nodded his head and waved, a loving smile plastered on his face. His eyes were glossy allowing them to shine in the night.

I got back in and looked over at mother who just held my hand.

We looked forward, my heart light and happy.

I will come back.

Mother squeezed my hand and i squeezed it back.

I will forever be grateful to that small little pack that accepted me.
