Chapter Twentytwo ~ Unedited

Tyler's POV

Jay has been on edge ever since we came back. Sticking to Scarlett like gum. She had told us what the rouge said and Jay was beyond pissed. His eyes began glowing and his body was trembling. Scarlett had to rub her face against his in order to calm him down.

I've been taking care of Lui since yesterday. Scarlett and i have been taking turns on keeping an eye on him. Lui tends to wander off into the forest.

But lately Scarlett has been off. She's been in bed or taking long showers. At some point jay had to go check up on her, she had fainted from stress.

"Tyler, Tyler lets go get ice cream" Lui yelled jumping onto my bed. We were sharing rooms. This made Scarlett feel a lot better.

"No Lui. We cant go outside" i muttered placing him onto the floor.

"But why" he asked, tiling his head a bit. His eyes glowing with the help of the sunlight.

"Because, bad people want to get us." There was no point in lying to him. He was old enough to know. Although even i knew that it wouldn't click in his head.

"Hmm, but you're strong you can fight them" he smiled up at me.

I shook my head and ruffled his hair, "No Lui, this is different."

The door to my room opened, causing us both to glance at it. Scarlett stood there, bags under her eyes.

She came up both of us and crushed us in a hug.

"I promise, no matter what happens, i wont let anyone lay a hand on you guys. I swear on my life," she pulled away tears rushing down her face, "I'll murder anyone who tries to lay a finger on you guys."

Lui wrapped his arms around her, "Okay Scarlett."

I nodded my head,, she was pushing herself too hard again. I could tell. But at the same time she was scared. We were all scared but Scarlett's fear of losing u s was kicking in.

"If anything happens, you guys might have to stay with Lizzy. I'll call her today, to warn her," She pulled away and looked at us both, "I promise nothing will happen to you guys." 

And with that she walked out, leaving both Lui and me speechless.

Jay walked in soon after and sighed, "I'm sorry. My job was to protect all of you guys. And now Scarlett is scared."

I walked to him and patted his back, "Don't worry, you're doing you're best. We all are."

"Yeah. Well i better get going, i have to keep an eye on Scarlett" he smiled at us before walking away.

Jay loved Scarlett dearly, we could all see that. But how far would he go for her, for us?
