Chapter Nineteen ~ Unedited

Nikki's POV

Fear was in the air, as well as hatred and war. We were all scared. Every female and all the children were in the pack house.

"Those pricks, thinking they can come here and declare war on us" Racheal snarled. Her eyes were glowing with fury.

The main women were in the Alpha's Office, deciding on what we should do next. Which only really consisted of Valeria (the current Luna), Racheal, Scarlett (the future Luna), Camellia (the Beta's wife), Lilac (3rd in commands wife), Mable (one of the elders), and Me. I dont really know why they allowed me in there but i was happy to be part of it.

"Luna, what do we do. They've basically declared war on us" Lilac asked, pacing around the huge room.

Mable looked at me a smiled, "Darling, can you please tell us who they are?"

I shook my head, refusing to talk, refusing to say anything. I was scared.

Valeria snapped her eyes at me and slammed her hands onto the table, "Look, we've stayed quiet long enough, we never asked where you came nor why you were running. But right now a group of unknown rouges have just started a war with my pack. A rising pack so you better start speaking before I throw you to them." She threatened.

I stood there, shaking on my shoes. Looking over at Scarlett, she only nodded and looked back a Valeria who was glaring daggers at me.

Tears began slowly streaming down my face, "Their a pack, a pack of rouges that go around slaughtering tiny packs and killing  werecats. Ive never seen that man before. The one who attacked my pack was a man much older, he claimed to be Axel."

Mable walked to me, and engulfed me in a hug, "Thank you my dear. That must have been hard for you."

Mable was warm and loving.

"Then what do we do know" Racheal asked. She wanted to fight i could tell. Her eyes burning with hatred.

"I'll call the boys, it'll take them a day to get here. For the meanwhile lets have guards surrounding the house. Two shifts day and night. All women must stay in the pack house. All children will stay in one room. No one will be alone. No one will leave" Valeria ordered. Everyone nodding their heads agreeing with her.

"Scarlett and I will take the first shift out front" Racheal yelled grabbing Scarlett's hand.

"I will too" i offered. Yes i was scared, but I was at about to let people die without me not doing anything.

"No" Scarlett yelled decline my offer, "You'll stay in the room with the children."

I was about to argue with her but the look she gave me sent shivers down my spine. Instead i just stood quietly and looked at the ground.

"Okay then its settled. Everyone go and spread the word. Gather everyone and all the children" Camellia ordered.

We all rushed out the room leaving Valeria, Lilac and Camellia.

I stood in the hallway, watching as Racheal dragged Scarlett into some unknown destination.

"she's just afraid Tyler will lose you that's it. This is her way of protecting you" Mable's sweet voice filled my ears. I turned to look at her. She was leaning against the wall popping some blue and yellow pills into her mouth.

"I want to help" I muttered selfishly.

"Do not worry, I'm sure a time will come when you're needed. But for now, listen to her orders. The start of the war is near. I can feel it." And with that Mable walked off. Smiling a bit to herself.

I sighed began walking.

With war comes the death of many loved ones. Was i really prepared to protect the people of this pack?

I shook my head, "Where ever Tyler's home is, i"ll protect it."
