After that incident lagi na akong bantay sarado. Everywhere I go, Dane was with me. Pag nagpipinta ako nasa tabi ko siya. He was drawing. We both have a passion for art. One of the things why we'd clicked. I spent my birthdays with him. Nililibre niya ako ng ice cream tuwing kaarawan ko. He was always there for me.

When we were 9, he said something that shocked me.

"Someday Hail, I'm gonna marry you. We'll live happily ever after." And I guess he didn't knew what he was saying. And I smiled at him. I played along.

"Maybe one day Dane." He grinned so wide na natakot ako baka mapunit ang kanyang mukha then he kissed my cheek. And my cheeks were flushed in deep red. He just smiled at me and continued what he was doing. And I did the same while smiling secretly.

Everyday from that day on, something has changed between us. From my dull and terrible life, he change it into something better. My paintings were colorful once again. Everytime I was near him my heart would race and it gave me butterflies in my stomach as cliche as it sounds but that was how I felt back then.

We grew up together. He was much taller than before and I was still like a midget that only grew a few inches.

He would laugh at me and teased that I was so small. But he'd hugged me anyway. When his birthday came I surprised him with a painting. A painting of the time we first met by the cliff.

And that was the first time I saw him cried. Tears of happiness, and he hugged me so tight.

"Halo..."

"Yes, Dane?"

"Promise me one thing Hail."

"What was that?" I asked

"Don't ever leave me." He pleaded that I had to tear my eyes away from him.

"I promise."
