By the time I reach Julien's dorm, the scene is one person sitting outside the building, head in hands.
I run towards the person, desperate to find out where my sister is.
"Antonio?"
He picks his head up. He's obviously distraught.
"Emerson. I swear, I wouldn't have left her alone."
"What happened? Where's Julien?"
"She overdosed on heroin. Paramedics shot her up with some medicine and took her to the hospital."
"What drug?"
"Narcan."
My stomach twists, making me sick.
"Do you know what hospital they took her to?"
"Regional."
"Thanks."
I turn to rush away but he stops me.
"Emerson, wait! I just wanted to let you know that I wasn't the one who gave her the heroin."
"I know. I know you got off that stuff, Antonio."
He looks hesitant as he opens his mouth to speak again.
"Can I come with you to the hospital?"
Oh wow. That's not the question I was expecting, but how can I say no?
"Yeah. Let's go."
