I wait outside the courthouse for Antonio to come out. I couldn't stomach going into court today just to hear the other side bash Julien for skipping out on testifying.
The door to the courthouse swings open and Antonio comes storming out. He's beyond angry.
"What's wrong?"
He ignores my words, pushing by to get to the car.
Okay, rude.
I follow him grabbing his arm before he gets into the car. He pulls his arm away from me, turning around.
"Tell me what's wrong."
One minute, he's standing in front of me.
The next?
He flips me around, pressing me against the car and capturing my lips in a kiss.
It ends just as quick.
I know I should be mad, but I miss his lips.
I miss him in general.
If only he kicked his drug habit sooner, we could have stayed together.
We would probably still be dating.
He backs away from me, shaking his head.
I avoid his gaze as I walk around and climb into the driver's side. He takes a minute outside before getting into the car with me.
"Sorry. I just needed to do that."
"I understand. You always needed some kind of release when you were angry."
I leave out the fact that his angry kisses were my absolute favorite.
"That still doesn't give me the right to kiss you. I shouldn't have."
"I know it won't happen again. I know you like my sister and all. It was a one-time kiss."
"Still..."
I wave my hand in front of his face, shutting him up.
"Don't beat yourself up, Antonio. I won't tell her. Continue your pursuits."
I wish I didn't have to say those words to him.
