The ground yanks me down to give it a hug. Two hours of searching and no sign of Julien.
I start shaking, tears spilling from my eyes. Antonio gets down on the ground next to me, pulling me against him.
"They lied! Calvin and Roxy will walk free and I'll never see Julien again!"
"They're searching the building again. She's gotta be in there. But where does she belong? That's the hard question to answer."
Where does she belong?
Where would two criminals hide her?
I let my eyes run over the building once more, not missing any possible details. When I see what I need, I scramble up, running towards it.
I flip open the garbage can lids one by one, knocking the empty ones over. The last one has a trash bag right on the top. I pull out the nasty bag, flinging it aside.
"Julien!"
Cops come rushing over to me, setting the garbage can down before pulling my twin out. I cover my mouth, holding back the possibility of vomiting.
She's wearing nothing but underwear and a bra. Words like 'trash', 'liar', and 'scum' are covering her body, written in black marker. Her face is swollen and bruises litter her body. There are multiple cuts on her flesh. Her lip is split and she is unconscious.
Antonio pulls me away from her body, letting the paramedics through. I bury my face in his shirt, breaking down.
I hear the sirens blare as Julien is taken away to the hospital.
