Chapter 18

(Infinity's POV)

I didn't want to get up. This bed was far too comfy and warm to ever leave. Ever. Then I shot up. Since when did I have a bed? Unless I'm at Inthelittlecorp, although that's highly unlikely due to the lack of forest air and the relaxed feel I get after being there. This was different, it was comfortable, but I didn't feel safe for some reason.

"Um... hello?" I called out, getting up, and only then noticing that I had a very familiar coat on.

The owner of that coat opened the door a little, smiled at me, then entered. "Glad to see you're awake."

I wasn't sure what to say. "...um, thanks for letting me stay here overnight."

He flashed a smile, but it wasn't a creepy one, more of a respectful one. "No problem. Say..." Ridge came into the room and sat down on the bed next to me. "...have you heard of the prophecy?"

I thought for a second, for once comfortable with his presence. "I... think so... yeah, 'Two will be close but not too' exetera."

He nodded, and looked away. "It's about you and Martyn... did you know that?"

"What?! It can't be! We're just..." I gasped, trailing off as I realised that actually made sense.

"Who are you?" The demigod asked, staring directly into my eyes.

"Infinity Waters. Water Elf." I replied instantaneously, raising an eyebrow in confusion.

He shook his head, frowning. "No. There's something about you that isn't quite normal... I don't know what. According to the prophecy, you aren't your true self yet."

"But this is me!" I almost yelled back at him, gesturing to myself.

"For now..." He muttered under his breath, then continued louder. "D'you want to go see the others before the world ends?"

"The world's ending?!" I screamed at him, rocketing to my feet and glaring at him. "You could've told me! But yes, I would like to go see them." I finished calmly, and he linked arms with me, teleporting us to the others.

They were all in a huddle, clearly scared, but they were still talking, making the most of their last moments. I saw Toby, and hung my head, remembering the Jaffa Factory incident with Ridge. But to my surprise, he glanced my way, looked shocked for a second then grinned happily, beckoning me to come to him. I gladly did so, running over and hugging him tightly, while he chuckled lightly.

"Good to see you here, before, you know..." He said when I released him. "Shall I go find Martyn so you two can talk?"

"But..." I began, wanting to refuse, but Toby just quickly bounded off before I could say no, coming back a few moments later with the blond himself.

"Hi... Infinity..." Martyn mumbled awkwardly while playing with his fingers.

"Hey Martyn!" I exclaimed, spreading my arms.

He smiled, hugging me, then to my surprise he lifted me off the ground and twirled me around in the air, while I giggled happily. After a short while he put me down, and I was only just aware of the roaring noise that was getting louder. I turned to face where the sound was coming from, and my eyes widened in fear, before I buried my face in Martyn's chest and beginning to cry. The hungry node was massive, sucking in anything that got in it's way, ripping trees from the ground, making a mess of the land.
