Nine

~Eric's POV~

I watched Cade hurry back to the dorms. I had seen her leave the cafeteria and I had felt her watching me, but I didn't say anything to her. She ran past me and I barley got a glimpse of her tattoo on her right thigh.

She looked back at me and face planted her brother's chest. She groaned softly and rubbed her face.

"Damn, you're a brick wall now," I heard her tell Aiden.

"Hey, I've constantly been working out since I came here ten years ago," he chuckled.

Cade continued to rub her face, "And you're lucky I don't have a concussion.".

"What're you doing out of the dorms this late," Aiden asked her.

"It's not late," Cade said, "Its after six in the evening and the transfers don't go to bed until maybe eleven in the evening.".

"Smart ass," Aiden sighed.

"I'm your smart ass," Cade shot back.

"Whoa, easy you two," I say, butting in, "She can stay out as long as she's in the dorms by ten.".

Aiden and Cade looked at me like I was crazy. I throw my hands up in surrender and I watched Cade smile at me.

I watched her, then she headed off to the dorm. I look at Aiden and he lowly growls at me.

"Don't hurt her or I'll break your fucking neck," Aiden said, then he walked off to his room.

I blink, then I realized I had zoned out while watching Cade walk off. I shake my head, then I start walking to my room. That was until I heard Cade scream.

I listen quietly as I hear two people grunting and Cade cussing her head off. I run towards her screams and watch as she struggled against Peter and Tanner.

"Let me go," she cried.

I saw they were on the edge of the chasm. Cade was struggling, then I watched her slam Peter and Tanner's heads into the wall.

"Hey," I snap, knowing once Peter and Tanner recovered they would indeed throw her over.

Peter and Tanner looked up, then they rushed by Cade and ran off. I run over and steady Cade before she fell.

"You alright," I asked her.

I felt Cade hug me tightly, then I noticed her shoulders shaking. She looked up at me with timid eyes and I knew she needed to talk.

I take her hand and lead her to my room, my priority at the moment Cade's safety and sanity.
