Seventeen

~Eric's POV: Two weeks later~

I'm so fucking dead. No, deader than dead!

I rubbed my face as I sat on my bed watching Cade cry. She was shaking and hiccuping. She wouldn't even come near me.

"H-how could you forget to put a fucking condom on," she sobbed, sliding down the wall behind her.

I scratch the back of my neck. I had only told Max and Four, to which they both agreed to make Cade a faction leader which automatically made her a full Dauntless member.

"I," I began, but she cut me off.

"I'm eighteen! I'll be in labor on my nineteenth birthday," she snapped.

I stayed quiet, letting her yell at me. When I knew she was done yelling, I walked over and sat beside her. She shied away for a moment before she was sobbing into my left shoulder.

"I talked to Max," I soothe, knowing she didn't know about my plan to keep her safe.

"W-wha," she hiccuped, wiping her eyes.

"I talked to Max. He made you a Dauntless leader. He said you can live with me and hide here if you want to," I murmur against her hair.

"What's Aiden going to say," she softly wailed.

I rub her left hip, kissing her hair. She quietly hiccuped, her cries quieting down. She looked up at me and blinked gently, her eyes puffy.

"Where's my Princess's smile," I soothe, kissing her head, "Where's Daddy's Princess's smile?".

She blushed lightly and hid her face with her hair. I knew she'd love that nickname or she was laughing and embarrassed because I called myself Daddy.

Cade looked up at me, then she gave a weak smile. I smile at her, kissing her forehead as a reward.

"D-do you want me to call you daddy, E-Eric," she shakily whispered.

"Only if you want to," I say.

She curled up against me, her head on my left shoulder still. She sighed gently, content.

I smile again, rubbing her side.

"You're... forgiven," she whispered, no trace of anger or other emotion in her voice.

"That's all I ask for," I whisper as she falls asleep afterwards.
