Twenty Five

~Eric's POV~

I sat on the couch after Draco and I finished working on some of the nursery for mine and Cade's child. I close my eyes as a headache started and start to fall asleep. I was worried about Cade, but I knew she'd be okay.

I was almost half asleep when I heard knocking on the front door. I open my eyes and begin to get up.

"I've got it," Draco said, scaring me a little.

I nod though, sitting back down as I felt tired again. Out of the corner of my right eye, I watch Dove sit down.

"I don't have to tell you to watch out for Cade but I'm going to. You break her heart and Draco or I will break every damn bone in your body," she hissed quietly.

I gulp softly, then I look to the door where Draco was talking to Ophelia and Cade. I listened to Ophelia explain that Cade became sick and that she'd keep Cade's secret.

I watch Cade shuffle over to the couch, then as she sat on my left side. She put her head on my shoulder and sniffled softly.

"You okay," I ask her quietly, kissing the top of her head, "You want to lay down?".

Cade quietly nodded, rubbing her eyes. I looked to Dove and Draco, both nodding to my silent question of taking Cade to our room.

I watch Cade and she shyly raised her arms up. I softly smile, then I very carefully pick her up. She laid her head against my shoulder, yawning softly.

"We have to go back to Abnegation," Draco said quietly.

"We'll be back in a week or two to help finish putting stuff up," Dove said, nodding in agreement to what Draco had said.

"Thank you," I whisper.

Can I keep Cade happy?
