Twenty One

~Eric's POV~

Cade hid behind me as we walked to the Pit, her hand shaking in mine. She didn't make eye contact with Four or Tris nor did she say anything to Ryn.

I squeeze her hand when I see Aiden with his wife Ophelia. They smiled at me, but didn't say anything. I felt tears hit my back.

I turn around and hide Cade with my body, letting her silently sob. I kept her hidden as I picked her up, then I began to walk back to my apartment.

"Eric," I heard Aiden call to me.

"Yeah," I say, still hiding Cade.

"Have you seen Cade? Mom and Dad want to see her," Aiden said.

"I haven't seen her," I say, "I'll send her to you if I find her.".

"Thanks, man," Aiden said.

I feel sweat bead on my forehead, but I start walking and manage to get out of the Pit. I take Cade to the security room and sit her in the chair.

"You lied for me," she hiccuped softly as I locked the door.

"Yeah," I say, taking the seat opposite of her.

"Why are we hiding in here," she asked quietly.

"I assumed you didn't want to be seen by anyone," I say.

"You assume right," she said.

Cade laid her head on the desk, looking exhausted. She still had tears in her eyes.

"You feeling okay," I ask her.

"No," she mumbled.

"What's wrong," I ask.

"I'm tired okay! I'm exhausted and its not good for our baby! I want to lay down, but I can't because I'm scared of somehow hurting myself! I'm scared of what my parents will say when they find out their eighteen year old daughter is carrying a baby and will be in labor on her nineteenth birthday," she snapped.

I gently grab her right hand as she began to quietly cry. I felt my heart break. I kiss her knuckles, still feeling heartbroken over seeing her saddened.

Cade fell asleep, her head on the desk. She still looked sad, but she softly snored. I squeeze her hand, then I heard a knock on the door.

I walk over and ask, "Who's there?".

"Cade's father, Draco," a man said.

I immediately opened the door, my heartache turning to fear.

I watch the man before me, taking in his appearance.

He was about 6'2", around 200 pounds of pure muscle mass. He had hair as black as the night, piercing emerald green eyes and a scar from under his right eye to his chin.

He had tattoos up and down his arms, but that wasn't what startled me.

There, peeking through the collar of the man's shirt was the face of a black dragon tattoo.

Oh shit. Cade's father is Draco 'Dragon' Harrison. I'm deader than dead now.
