Annie's POV
It's been one hour of me standing in line. One hour! The line was getting shorter as I moved closer to the stage.

I felt like turning away and running out. But, I can't let my mom down. I can't believe I wanted todo this.

"Nervous?" A girl behind me asked. "Yeah actually." I said, turning around. We made a small talk before the line moved even more up.

"Next!"

The word I was dreading to hear. I took a deep breathe and walked on to stage. There, right in front of me, was Hayden, Johnny and Kenzie.

Behind them, I saw Tisha, the lady who offered me to stay. She gave me a warm smile and mouthed 'good luck' I returned the smile.

"What's your name dear?" A man in a business attire asked. "A-Annie LeBlanc." Great gob Annie! You stuttered.

He nodded and everyone wrote something down on their clipboards. "What are you going to be singing?" He asked again.

"Um, I'm going to be singing 'The Climb' by Miley Cyrus." I said, trying to hide my nervousness and tension.

He nodded. Then he started the music. I can't do this. I can't. I slightly bit my bottom lip. Tisha gave me a worried look.

"I'm sorry, I can't." I croaked into the mic. Then I ran off stage, with tears streaming down my cheeks.

"That sucks." Kenzie mumbled. She could sound careless. "Can you go talk to her." My mom whispered in my ear. "What if she left the building?" I asked. "Don't worry, she didn't."

"Why do you want me to talk to her? This isn't the first time someone ran off stage." I asked. "Just go Hayden. Trust me." My mom said. After thinking, I gave in.

I walked out of the auditorium and to the lobby, she was no where to be found. Backstage, nope. Front desk, nope. Then I walk upstairs to the storage area.

It's dark, dusty, with cardboard boxes everywhere. I hear soft sobs from the corner. I quietly walk over there to see the girl with her head in her knees.

What if she's a fan? Maybe she'll go all psycho on me. Well, if it makes my mom happy, it's a risk worth taking.

"Um, Hey." I said, sitting in front of her. She carefully lifted her head up, to revel her beautiful facial features.

Annie's Pov
I look up to see the one and only Hayden Summerall. Right in front of me. I play it off cool. "H-Hey. What are you doing here?" I croaked, moving the hair out of my face.

"Um, I just wanted to check on you." He said. "I'm pretty sure other people have ran off stage and you don't check on them every time." I laughed a bit.

He smiled and scratched the back of his neck. "Yeah, well, my mom actually told me to check on you." He confessed. "Who's your mom?" I asked curiously.

"Tisha Summerall." He responded. Tisha? Tisha?! Tisha is Hayden's mom! Oh god, I should've known. Now I'm staying the night at the Summerall house. Lucky me huh.

"Oh." I sighed. "Something wrong?" He asked. "Oh nothing." I lied. "Well, do you wanna try again?" Hayden asked, standing up and sticking his hand out for me to grab.

"I don't think I can." I said, not meeting his eyes. "Okay then, how about a private audition. You sing just to me, right now." He smiled sitting back down.

"No, I don't-" "Yes you can. Just try. It's just me. No one else, and nothing else. Just you and your voice. Close your eyes and focus on your voice." Hayden said cutting me off.

I nodded unsurely and began singing...

I open my eye to see Haydens jaw dropped to the floor. "I don't think I've ever heard anyone sing as good as you. And... that wasn't the the Climb was it." He smirked.

I laughed a little. "No, I wrote that song as an original. But, I've never actually ever had the thought of singing it." I said, looking down an trying to hide my blush.

Wait... why am I blushing?

"Wait, what's your name?" He asked. "Annie." I smiled. "Well, you already know who I am." He chuckled. "I'm surprised you're not like, all excited you're talking to me. Are you not a fan?" He asked.

"Never said I was." I smirked. He dramatically put his hand over his heart. "I'm offended!" Hayden said sarcastically. I giggled.

"We should probably get going. I have a lot more auditions to do." He sighed. I nodded as we walked back to the front door of the auditorium.

"Well, it was nice talking to you Annie. Here, take my number. Call me sometime." He smiled and rushed in. I was about to tell him that I don't have a phone, but just great.

I sat down at a chair when the auditorium door opened. Tisha came out. "Hi Annie." She smiled, sitting down next to me. "Oh, hi Tisha."

"Som did Hayden talk to you?" She asked. I nodded. "He's my son you know." She said. I looked at her in disbelief. "So, you're Tisha Summerall?" I asked. She smiled and proudly nodded.

"But, you offered me to stay the night at your house." I slightly tilted my head. "Yes I know, for some reason, I trust you and think you should stay dear. And I feel you have a bright future ahead of you." She reassured me.

"So Annie, tell me about yourself." Tisha said. I told her everything. She was shocked but very sympathetic towards it. She was kind and caring.
