"alright kids, your first performance is tomorrow at 5:00 pm. so, later on today we will be practicing on stage. for now, you are all free to explore." mr.jimmy said.
"we'll be chaperones." dylan said, resting his arm around brec. i wish hayden and i could be open like that again.
kenzie was on her phone the whole time. she didn't look so heartbroken due to the break up. "hey, uh, kenz." i said walking to her. "huh? oh, sup anns." kenzie said shoving her phone in her back pocket.
"so, i heard about the break up. are you okay about it?" i asked. "yeah, i just guess it wasn't meant to be." she shrugged, piercing her lips.
i nodded suspiciously and walked back to hayden. "hey, uh, is it okay if annie and i go our own way?" hayden asked. brec smiled and nodded.
hayden grabbed my hand and we walked out. "we need some alone time." hayden smiled. i smiled back and intertwined our fingers.
we walked and walked until we found a cute small pizza shop. we walked inside. it was definitely retro.
we slid into a booth and the waitress gave us our menu. "excited for your first on stage performance tomorrow?" hayden smiled.
"um, a little. mostly nervous." i said, not meeting his eyes. "hey," hayden said lifting up my chin. "you're going to do great." he smiled.
i smiled back. we gave the waitress our orders. i just thought for awhile, ruby's blackmailing hayden so he can break up with me. if he breaks up with me, he wouldn't date ruby. all ruby wants is for us not to be together.
but how does ruby know what hayden's doing 24/7? "annie, annie." hayden waved his face in my hand, snapping me back into reality.
"oh sorry hayden." i said. "it's fine, you were deep in thought. what about?" he asked. "well, i have a better plan." i said.
"break up with me. ruby doesn't want to date you, she's trying to get revenge for something. it's the safest option until we figure something out." i said.
hayden opened his mouth, about to say something, but he stopped. he nodded and kissed my head on the top. "promise me you won't date anyone else?" hayden said.
i giggled. "of course i won't. easiest promise to keep." i smiled. he smiled back. after our pizza came, we ate and hayden paid for us. we walked out running into everyone else.
"hey lovebirds!" mr.jimmy smiled. i frowned a little. "um, about that... annie and i aren't together for the time being." hayden said. everyone's faces dropped... except kenzie's.
she has the slickest smirk smudged on her face. "i'll be back." she said, leaving the sene. then it hit me.
kenzie is the spy for ruby.
