Trigger Warnings: Suicide attempt considered, anxiety? child abuse, violence, blood, homophobia. Read carefully
To say Connor was having a bad day was a huge understatement. Evan had been home from school sick and Connor had been all alone. Then when he got home his dad found out he was gay and that had ended about as well as you would expect. Now he was sitting in his room emptying out a pill bottle. He had promised Evan he would never try again, but it was just too much. Life was too much. And Evan isn't here
Connor was about to swallow the pills when his phone buzzed, he was fully prepared to ignore it, but then it buzzed again. He picked it up promising himself he would only read the text before doing it.
Evan❤️: Hey connor, is there any chance you can come over?
Evan❤️: sorry that was stupid it's fine if you can't
Me:
No it's fine Evan why?
Evan❤️: um my mom is at work again and I'm feeling a little lonely, like I said it's dumb
Connor looked between the pills and his phone. He really wanted to just end it, no one would miss him, Evan would get over it. His trail of thought was interrupted by the phone buzzing again
Evan❤️: i kinda really want to see you
Ending everything or helping Evan? It was no choice.
Me:
I'm on my way
Connor ran down the stairs quickly trying to avoid Larry. It didn't work.
"Where do you think you're going?" Larry asked standing in front of the door.
"Out" Connor mumbled trying to push around him
"I bet you're going to see your idiot boyfriend" Larry told me raising his hand. I flinched and ducked. But his hand still connected solidly with my face. Larry must be really pissed, he usually didn't hit anywhere that would show. I tried to run out the door, but fell to the ground when he grabbed my hood. He kicked me a couple of times before walking away "Don't come back"
"Fuck you!" I yelled before running out into the rain and starting the long walk to Evans house.

"What happened" I worried, I had texted Connor to see if he wanted to come over, but I wasn't expecting him to be soaking wet and bruised.
"It's raining" Connor said, refusing to look me in the eye. I quickly pulled him inside and made him sit on a bench before running to find a towel. I ran to the bathroom and grabbed a orange towel before racing back. Connor hadn't moved out of the entry way, I reached out and took his arm when he didn't flinch or pull away I pulled him to the couch. "Connor what happened?" I asked sitting next to him
"I think... " Connor said looking at the wall vacantly. I shook his shoulder lightly "I think I just got kicked out"
Evan wanted to ask more but Connor clearly didn't want to talk about it so he just took off Connors wet sweatshirt and replaced it with the towel so it would dry. Then Evan hung up the sweatshirt and pulled an ice pack out of the freezer.
"Here hold this against your eye" Evan said. Connor didn't even look at him as he took the ice pack and held it against his eye. "I'm going to find you clothes okay?" Evan asked. Connor didn't answer. Evan was about to leave until he saw Connor's shoulders shaking "Con?"
"He found out" Connor explained. "He found-" He started crying quietly.
Evan sat next to him and held his shoulders "Who did Con?" He comforted
"You missed school" Connor stated
Evan nodded "Yeah, I had a therapist appointment"
"People were whispering and staring at me all day, they clearly knew something"
Evan felt guilty, Connor had to endure school alone something he never made Evan do. "I should have told you I wasn't coming"
Connor turned to Evan "It's fine, I think you told me and I forgot" He brushed Evans hair behind his ear "When I got home my dad cornered me, said he knew I was gay and had a boyfriend then he beat me up"
Evan was amazed at how calm connor seemed about the whole thing "Are you hurt anywhere else" he worried running his hands down Connor's arms
Connor sighed and slowly lifted his t-shirt. His chest was covered in bruises, the most noticeable is one on his side. Evan slowly placed his hand on Connor's chest, when he didn't flinch Evan pulled him into a hug, trying to not put pressure on the bruises. "I'm s-sorry" he mumbled
Connor ran his hands through Evans short hair "It wasn't your fault, I promise" he comforted before pulling Evan in for a light kiss. After a minutes they pulled apart enough to breathe. "I love you Evan" Connor said accidentally
"I love you too" Evan smiled "You wanna watch a movie?"
"Of course" Connor replied, turning on the TV and hugging Evan tightly. The bad day forgotten, tomorrow might be worse but at least Evan would still be there.
A/N: Poor Connor. I will probably update whenever have a idea. They aren't all super angsty I promise.
