A/n: Short Jackcrutchie thing because I realized it was a holiday and wanted to make some kind of New Years thing to update.

"I don't like him" Crutchie objected. He had been staring at Jack for the majority of the party, and Romeo had finally confronted him about it.

Romeo raised his eyebrows and looked pointedly at Jack "You have been staring at him for five minutes, eventually even he's going to notice"

Crutchie snorted, that was unlikely. Jack was so oblivious Crutchie could probably kiss him and he still wouldn't know what was going on "I doubt it"

Romeo rolled his eyes "Good point, but you're just as bad"

"What?!" Crutchie asked confused, he considered himself decently observant, even if he was slightly oblivious, he wasn't Jack level oblivious.

Romeo rolled his eyes "Do I have to spell it out?" He grabbed Crutchie's shoulder and pointed at Jack "He. Is. In. Love. With. You" At each word he moved his hand slightly to the left so it looked like he was spelling out words.

Crutchie pushed Romeo away "No he isn't" he looked at his feet. All Jack would ever be was his best friend, nothing more. Romeo sighed and left Crutchie to stare at Jack.

"Have you made any progress?" Romeo asked direction the question to anyone who had an answer.

"No" Davey replied. Everyone had teamed up for the holidays in an attempt to get Crutchie and Jack together so they would stop complaining about being in love with each other. Davey, Katherine and Spot had all been on the receiving end of Jack's text messages, while Race, Romeo and Mush received Crutchie's. Now after three years they decided they were going to get them together no matter what they had to do.

"I think we might have to tell them they like each other and shove them in a closet for a few hours" Kath suggested. It had been three years, change didn't seem very likely without some kind of push in the right direction.

"That's plan C, we're only on plan B" Race reminded her

"Do we have like, plan J?" Romeo asked

"We aren't that desperate yet" Kath pointed out "Now can we focus? If I get one more text at three am about how pretty Crutchie's eyes are, I'm going to murder someone" She changed her tone of voice to mimic Jack's "His eyes are so pretty, they're brown but when he smiles they look green, and yesterday they were golden" She switched back to her voice "I swear for an artist he is really bad at describing color"

"Maybe we let them work it out on its own?" Specs asked, he was always the voice of reason. Everyone stared at him "What? It's New Years, maybe they'll work it out and kiss when the clock strikes twelve?" Everyone shrugged, it wasn't the worst idea, and that way no one had to think about it. The 'meeting' dispersed after no better ideas were offered and everyone went to celebrate.

Crutchie was annoyed. It was almost midnight and he was dreading the countdown, it was just another year he couldn't kiss Jack. Everyone else had started early, Kath and Sarah were trading kisses on the couch and it looked extremely innocent compared to Spot and Race sitting in the arm chair. Race was practically in Spots lap and they were kissing sloppily with someone's tongue in someone else's mouth. Crutchie had decided to have a couple of drinks just enough to give him a little more courage than usual. When the final five minute countdown started everyone made their way up to the roof, Crutchie pushed himself determinedly out of his seat and made his way up to the roof and over to Jack.

"Hey Crutch, what's up?" Jack asked. He smiled but it didn't quite reach his eyes. He wasn't excited to go another year pining after his best friend. Usually he brought a pointless date to New Years, that way he at least had someone to kiss and celebrate with. But he couldn't bring himself to ask anyone else out when he was in love with his best friend. He examined Crutchie more closely "Are you okay?" Something seemed a little off about the look on his face.

"I have something I need to do" Crutchie said. He knew he needed to do this. Jack might push him away and tell him they just wanted to be friends, but the chance of something good (and the alcohol) was enough to get him to make a move.

"TEN, NINE-"

Jack turned when their friends started yelling "Can it wait until after?"

Crutchie shook his head. He was determined.

"THREE, TWO, ONE! HAPPY NEW YEAR!"

Crutchie pulled Jack into a kiss. Jack immediately froze and his brain short circuited. Crutchie was kissing him. He kissed back before he noticed the slight taste of alcohol . He pulled away and Crutchie froze, when he realized that maybe Jack didn't want to kiss him and maybe he did something wrong. "I'm so sorry" Crutchie backed away nervously.

"Why?" Jack asked "That was amazing, it's just..." He trailed off at Crutchie's disappointed look. "Are you drunk?" He didn't want to do anything if Crutchie wouldn't remember it in the morning.

Crutchie shook his head "Not really, just drunk enough to have enough courage to kiss you" He admitted quietly "I'm eighty-nine percent sure I'll remember everything in the morning"

Jack shrugged, that worked for him. "We need to talk in the morning" Crutchie nodded and Jack pulled him back into a kiss. He could hear everyone talking but he ignored it in favor of kissing Crutchie. His hands moved to Crutchie's waist and Crutchie dropped his crutches in favor of balancing with his hands around Jack's neck. Jack nipped at his bottom lip and he made a slight noise of surprise before leaning farther into the kiss.

"Hey lovebirds, break it up" Race yelled.

"Shut up Race" Crutchie said, before jumping back and immediately losing his balance before returning his hands to Jack's neck to avoid falling over. He picked up his crutches and started making his way back downstairs, ignoring the teasing from their friends. Jack followed and Crutchie changed course from the living room to his bedroom so they could talk and hopefully make out more. He knew their friends would have questions, but he also knew the would be too preoccupied celebrating to wonder what Crutchie and Jack were doing. They finally reached the room and they sat next to each other on the bed.

Jack leaned against Crutchie's shoulder "Now what?"

A/n: Happy new year! This is short but I actually kinda like how it turned out.
