(Y/n) cowered in her stance, trying her hardest to avoid eye contact with the flustered cop holding her shoulders. She forgot about the... secret.
Should have probably remembered that she was supposed to be quiet about that.
"Why would you do that?!"
"Umm... Could you kind of... forget that you heard that?"
"You're just asking for trouble!"
(Y/n) sighed, slowly raising her arms up to his shoulders as well.
"I'm not dead yet, am I?"
Tyler's eyes scanned hers, trying to identify any hint of false intentions. He wasn't necessarily 'angry' with her. Just more so scared than anything else. For what reason? Why, isn't it obvious?
His hand hurriedly searched the appropriate areas of her body for any injury or wound. (Y/n), startled by the action, stammered out her concern.
"T-Tyler, what are you-"
"Did he hurt you?"
His implication send her blood into a freezing state as she held onto his words. Did he know? How did he know? (Y/n) thought that she was the only one who had heard those noises. Had he seen him too? Did he know of him? Had he seen him before?
"You know who he is?"
"The maniac with the shotgun? Oh, everyone at the station knows who he is."
She let out a silent sigh of relief, happy to hear that they weren't talking about the same person. Who knew what Tyler would have been through with the grey-skinned man if he had met him, so she was happy that he was able to stay out of that situation. She wasn't even sure what she was dealing with, but she knew it wasn't good. Her intuition told her otherwise.
Then again, she didn't have any idea of what this random person was truly capable of. He may have hurt her with the ringing or whatever, but what else could he do if given the chance? Would he physically harm her? Did he want to hurt her?
(Y/n)'s mind raced back to the moment when she had first made eye contact with him. He looked so... sad. He wasn't angry, but full of sorrow. His tone beforehand suggested that he didn't want her there, but as soon as he saw her, he froze. Why?
He touched her so softly. Soft enough to barely even make a sensation on her skin. He looked desperate. Desperate and afraid. Why did he seem so upset? Why was she to fear of all people?
And with the ringing... She hadn't heard it before she met him. Why was she hearing it afterward? Then again, was it even the man in the mansion causing it, or was it just a coincidence? Otherwise, where was it coming from?
"You should know better than to trespass on property like that! It's dangerous."
Tyler's continuously scolding drew the girl out of her thoughts. She stared up at him, now out of her haze as she studied his angry and concerned features. He was so upset - why?
"Tyler, this is not that big of a deal."
"It is!"
"It's government property that I am in charge of. No one can report me."
"I can!"
"But you never would."
Tyler ran his hand through his hair, scratching the top of it as he let the conversation settle in his head. She was right, he would never rat her out. But it didn't make the situation any less upsetting. Had that man with the gun hurt her? What was going on inside of her mind?
