"Good morning, sleepyhead." (Y/n) laughed, looking over Ethan. He was still in his pajamas, his hair askew and eyes fluttering open and shut as he read the seer's journal. He looked up at her with confusion at first, but it quickly bloomed into a sleepy and soft smile.
"Ah, mornin'. How'd you sleep?"
She walked over to the coffee pot on the kitchen counter, shrugging as she poured herself a cup, "I slept pretty decent—better than I usually do."
Ethan perked up slightly at this, grinning as he continued to read before taking a bite of his cereal in front of him.
"That's great, (Y/n). We should go over to the coffee shop soon." He added, a nervous excitement building up when he saw you silently nod. His thoughts quickly conjured up, reminding him of the important information that he had found earlier, "Ah! I forgot to tell you. I found some new spells, and one is centered around casting a barrier around pieces of property. There wasn't a whole lot of information on it, but it did say that the size of the barrier was dependent on how many people were sacrificed."
"Woah, woah. Sacrificed?" (Y/n) repeated, taking a seat across from Ethan. He nodded, slightly shrugging at the information himself.
"I know it's strange and quite frankly dramatic, but that's what it says. This is the first spell that went into such detail and went so far as to sacrificing human beings... Do you think she was starting to develop her skills?"
(Y/n) thought for a moment, "Maybe, but that would have been her last spell to cast as a being in this realm. Who knows what happened after she disappeared... She could be in some form of eternal purgatory for all we know."
Ethan hummed slightly in agreement, but continued.
"So, I found some notes next to the spell, and it says '3 people' on it. Do you think that Celine was making notes for when she performed this? For when she performed the spell?"
(Y/n) went back to the moments to where she had looked through some of the records with Ethan and the Celine. Oddly enough, they did in fact find that there were records of three people last being seen in that mansion, not counting William who was obviously alive. Dark was never mentioned in the records himself, but she recalled a description of a man that was presumed to be somewhat of a political campaigner. Maybe the guy she had a dream about was one of the victims too? It was too much information for such a short morning. She groaned, placing her hand at her temple to kneed her fingers against the skin and bone.
"How about that coffee now? I need a breather..."

With Kathryn waving them off as they walked to their booths, they placed their drinks on the table and climbed inside the area. Ethan scooted down the seat with the book in hand. She just couldn't get him to get rid of that thing. A part of her was worried that a spell was going to accidentally activate and hurt the kid, but she had to stop thinking about it for now. There was no sense in worrying, you know?
"You really like that book, huh?" (Y/n) asked, taking a sip of her drink as Ethan's face lit up.
"I've always been a fan of this kind of stuff. I've just never had the moment to really take time to feed into it." Ethan flipped back to the page that held the spell he was studying, and his eyes suddenly got a little more intense. (Y/n) laughed to herself a little bit, entertained by how focused he was. It was a side to him that she wasn't completely used to seeing, but she loved his reactions to something so simple. (Y/n) used to be a skeptic of magic herself, but after this whole incident, she had a hard time believing that it wasn't real.
