Tyler and (Y/n) could only stare at each other, alarmed at the multitude of things that had happened in mere minutes. The attorney took Tyler's shaky eye contact as a sign that he knew something that she didn't, so she spoke up.

"What happened between them?" She asked, her voice still quaky from her interaction with her ex-boyfriend.

'Where are you when I need you, Dark?'

The girl quickly had a moment and realized that Dark hadn't said a word throughout that entire interaction. Hadn't he professed that he would be in her mind to protect her? Yes, he was having an argument with his 'roommate' but was it true that heated? What happened to his eternal promise to protect her? Sure, she may not have accounted for him trying to protect her and such with his declaration of love, but since he now had the ability to be in her mind whenever he wanted to be, he'd better do what he said he would.

Was there another reason for their deal? What plan did Dark have in mind if he wasn't going to protect her like he had promised? She was beginning to worry about her rushed commitment to Dark's protective nature, but she would just have to speak with him later. Hopefully, he didn't have ill intentions.

"Mark and Amy got into a fight last night."

"That was something I obviously understood." She retorted, stepping towards the cop as Tyler put his gun back in his holster.

"I... I would have arrested him or contained him for more than what I was able to, but Amy refused. Since she wouldn't press charges, there wasn't much I could do—"

"I know that Tyler." She interrupted, "What happened that has you so shaken?"

Tyler let out a sigh, running his hand through his hair before he gestured for the girl to follow him back inside the building. She was curious as to why he wanted to take this into the station but didn't ask and simply followed. Tyler had always had a certain privacy about himself, but he also had one of the best intuition's that she knew of, so she trusted him.

The two walked into the station, being greeted by several officers asking if the both of them were alright. (Y/n) found it odd, but Tyler seemed to understand what they were asking and brushed them off with a simple reassurance before the two of them walked into the break room and sat down on one of the couches. Her friend let out an exasperated groan, putting his arm on the couch as he looked over at her.

"While I was waiting for him to get out of his cell and check himself out with a warning provided by the reception, I was texting you. Mark had managed to sneak a glance over my shoulder and see that it was you I was texting. He made some... threatening and derogatory remarks."

"Like what, Tyler." She asked deadpan, beginning to get frustrated with his vagueness.

"You want me to paraphrase?"

"Quotes, please." She responded, her attitude climbing in intensity.

"...He noticed how I talked about a 'predicament' in our conversation and heckled me about it. Nothing I can't really handle, so I just gave him a glare and ignored him after that. He didn't leave my side after the police officer had left him, and when he realized that I was talking to you, he made some snide remarks."

"Examples, Tyler."

Tyler let out another sigh, clearly fed up with (Y/n) not appreciating his gentle touches on his and Mark's conversations. It was no secret that he hated Mark — specifically for what he did to his childhood friend. How he dared to lay his filthy hands on her so often was something that he would never understand. He had so many conversations with (Y/n) in order to convince her that Mark would never change, and things would get better if she would just leave him. After a few years, she and Mark had a huge fight and luckily, (Y/n) cut him off as Tyler was finally able to drag him off to jail until a restraining order was placed against him.
