3: Crazy Happenings

I walk into my first period, normally. Trying to keep all private thoughts away from my brain. Apparently Ekon can read them. How I found that out you may ask? He found out that I wet the bed till I was eight. He was laughing so hard it my ears ring. I hate cringe moments more than ever before.

"Garroth!"

I look over to see Aphmau calling me over. Travis, Dante, and Katelyn were already there, smiling. I walk up to them and sit next to Aphmau.

"Did you finish the homework," She asked. "Travis told me you looked pretty...out of it last night."

"Yeah, just was tired," I laughed nervously. "Did you?"

"Definitely!"

Her messy bun and her glasses made her look so beautiful...

"You okay Garroth? You seem annoyed about something."

"Y-Yeah!"

"Okay class, let's get started," Mr. Chad announced. "Can anyone tell me what a distance equation looks like?"

My blood pressure goes through the roof.

"Uh, um..."

"Well?"

"D equals the square root of x one minus x two squared plus y one minus y two?"

"Correct."

I relaxed a bit. Aphmau giggled.

"Nerd," Katelyn mumbled, giggling as well.

"I hate that too," Aphmau agrees. "Last year, I messed up so bad, he hasn't called on me since."

"R-Really? But, you're great at math."

"Not when my heart is going through my chest," She says, cheerfully. Yet, her smile fades. "Garroth, I think your pencil has a burn mark on it."

I look down to see that there was. I went wide eyed.

"What happened?"

"I don't know."

Ekon?

Just something your nervousness brought up.

How long until I will be able to control it?

Only a few more hours, I'm sure.

I gulped, feeling really nervous.

"I must have left it near something hot last night," I responded.

"Okay," She says. "I just was worried."

"Heh, you don't need to worry about me."

She smiled and went back to paying attention to the whiteboard.

Laurance and I were hanging out in the hallway, in passing period.

"Did you hear that Dante asked out Nicole," He chuckled.

"Seriously? What did she say?"

"Heh, yes," He smirked. "I just cannot believe it."

"Poor girl," I joked.

We laughed, enjoying our company. It feels like Laurance has been my best friends for years but, in reality, I've only known him for a few weeks.

"Is that your new boyfriend, Little Laurance?"

"Ugh, Zenix..."

He chuckled, coming up to us.

"You seem a bit tense. Is it something I said?"

"Heh, you wish."

"Zenix, just leave," I groaned.

"Nah, blondie," He smirked. "I was only being soft yesterday because of the kid."

"Sure."

He turned his attention back to Laurance, seeing me less important.

"You didn't answer my question."

"He's not my boyfriend."

"Why do you both constantly hang out then?"

"Because that's what friends do. I guess you don't know that because you don't have any."

He slammed him against the locker, Laurance going wide eyed. He raised him by the collar of his shirt.

"How dare you!?"

"Put him down Zenix," I demanded, trying to pull him off.

"Get out of this nerd!"

He threw Laurance on the ground, making he yelp. He got up and punch Zenix square in the face. He responded by kicking Laurance in the gut, making him fall.

"Stop Zenix!"

"Or what? You can't do anything to stop me."

Anger boiled inside me. I hated that Zenix always saw others below him. That he only saw himself in the spotlight. With my strength, I pushed him sending him flying. Scared, I looked at my hands, to see nothing out of the ordinary. I looked back to see Laurance. Shocked but, still recovering.

"Are you o-okay,"I asked, running over to him.

"Y-Yeah, are you," He asked, me kneeling down.

Then, I had my first chance to look into his eyes. A beautiful baby blue that seemed to glisten. I blushed, as well as he.

"H-Here, let me help you up," I say.

"Garroth! Laurance!"

We look over to see Blaze running up to us. He helped me pull Laurance up.

"Are you both okay," He asked. "Zenix came flying down the hall."

"Yeah, thanks to Garroth," Laurance smiles.

"Nice job my prince," Blaze said, jokingly.

I blushed slightly.

"Blaze, stop it," Laurance warned. "You know he doesn't like that."

"Eh, a guy can try."

"Boys!"

Aphmau came up, seeming concern.

"What happened?"

We all shrugged and she sighed.

"Come on. Ms. Latter will be angry if we are late," Aphmau giggled. She took my wrist lightly and started walking with me. "Let's go!"

I hoped to Irene that I wouldn't hurt anyone else today...
