7: New Heroes in Town

"Garroth!"

I turned in my chair to see a panting Travis.

"Dude! The shadow is here!"

My heart stopped.

"Where?"

"He's at Lord Nicole's statue! All of us are going down to see if we can get a good view of Protector and Howler! Do you wanna come?"

"Um, I rather stay safe but, good luck!"

"Heh, your lost!"

With that he rushed out of the dorm again. I sighed. I looked down at my biology homework, knowing I needed to finish it. I pushed myself up, doing my new job.

"Ekon, suit up!"

My suit appeared and I jumped out of the window again, this time, landing perfectly. I ran through the streets, taking short cuts to the Lord Nicole statue. Once I arrived, I saw that Nicole was half gone. Literally. Her hips down was the only thing left. The Shadow was fighting off cops, his strength showing. I took a deep breath, still a bit afraid. Hopefully Howler will show.

"Already round two? Jeez, you seem to rush things don't you?"

The man chuckled and turned to me.

"This time, Protector I came prepared!"

He raised his red sword and shot a laser toward the crowd of cops. I froze, panicked and afraid of what he did to them.

When the smoke cleared, I saw around ten knights. They wore red ruby armor and had black spears as weapons.

"Guards," Shadow said, getting their attention. He turned to me and pointed his sword at me. "Kill him."

Wow. Okay. It's only the second encounter and he already wants me dead? Fine. I can deal with that. Makes for a horrible comic series but, it's fine.

I readied myself, summoning my diamond sword. All ten came charging at me, ready for blood. The public were either intrigued or running away. I saw with the corner of my eye, my friends. Aphmau with her phone out, recording. The others just stared in awe. I needed to make sure they didn't get hurt.

"Okay," I say, making sure the knights only heard. "Let's do it your way."

Ekon, anything?

Just put all your energy in it and you'll be able to unlock a hidden ability, I'm sure.

I did as told and started to battle the knights. Remembering they were innocent people, I planned to knock them out.

"Yo! Why are ya having fun without me?!"

I looked up to see Howler making an dramatic entrance.  His red hood made everything more dramatic to be honest.

He stood next to me and summoned his claws. We started to battle them left and right.

"You both seem to be taking this easy," Shadow smirked.

"You under estimated us, I guess," Howler teased.

"Or did I."

He used his power to send Howler flying.

"Howler!"

"You see, I've been practicing and I assumed you both didn't."

Howler rammed into a oak tree, causing people to scramble out of the way. I growled, charging at the Shadow myself.

He blocked my sword with his.

"Why don't you give up," He asked, with a smirk across his face still.
