I sighed as I closed my notebook, leaving notes for friends and family. Unlike previous situations, I don't know the outcome of all of this...
You're making the right decision, kid.
Am I?
Yes. You're sacrificing yourself-
Oh, gee. I can just feel my stress melting away.
I didn't finish. You're sacrificing yourself for the greater good. If this is your last stand, at least you'll be remembered as a hero to Scaleswind.
Thanks, Ekon. I'm serious. You've been with me through the thick and thin of this whole journey and I wouldn't know what to do without you.
Your welcome. By far, you're probably my favorite hero yet...
That made my heart warm up a bit, actually making me feel less stressful of the situation.
There's only one thing left to do.
You know it, kid.
Ekon...suit up.
My suit appeared on me, my mask hiding my identity as always.
Don't worry, Garroth. This won't be the last time this will happen. Not if I can help it.
I sighed, nodding. I had already told Ekon the plan...I think he was okay with it. To be honest, I can never tell if he's okay with my ideas at this point.
"Garroth...?"
I looked back to see Travis, Dante and Katelyn both behind, in the room. I looked at them and desperately tried to explain myself.
"So, you're actually doing it?", Katelyn asked. I responded with a nod and said; "If I don't go then, what are we supposed to do?"
They seemed like they understood and gave up trying to convince me to stay after a few minutes of gentle arguing. Dante came up to me and said;
"What are you going to tell, Aph and Howler?", He asked. "They'll totally be against this."
"I know...", I sighed, combing my hair back. "They have to understand it's for their own protection as well..."
It was silent in the room for a few moments until Katelyn spoke up and asked;
"What's your plan, besides telling Aphmau and Howler the truth?"
I shrugged.
"What?", Travis asked me.
"I'm winging it.", I shrugged again.
They just blinked at me, like I was bonkers.
"Are you kidding me!?", They all shouted. I shushed them, rapidly, trying to make sure our neighbors didn't hear. "No, I'm not. I'm insane.", I groaned. "Just...trust me. I'll figure out a plan after I really know what he wants. Besides, I'm banned from school, so, what else am I suppose to do if I don't go and become Shadow's...whatever?"
Katelyn rolled her eyes; "Get a hobby, apparently."
I chuckled.
"Yeah...But, like I said, trust me on this."
They all looked at each and nodded. They looked back at me and all gave me a hug.
"You better come back, okay?", Travis demanded. "I don't want to get a new roommate."
I laughed and nodded.
"I'll be back by Monday. I promise.", I assured them. "I'll see you guys soon..."
With that, I went to the window and opened it. I hooked my leg over and looked back. I waved slightly goodbye and made a jump for it. I landed on the concrete, on my feet. I looked back up to see the three looking down to me. I smiled back at them, give a cheesy salute that you see in the movies and run off to my first stop.
