The rest of the day went like the same. Me, trying to find a way out, as well as, helping Laurance. So far, I have gained nothing on both situations. Now, I'm just sitting on the stairs, thinking of how I'm going to spend the rest of my life here. At least, Shadow is keeping his word. By now, he would've done something. Whether it'd just be something small like, steal candy from a baby. Mean but, small.

I don't want to. Now knowing it's Laurance, I can't stand him...or either of them getting hurt.

"Well, well, well..."

I shot my head back, to see Shadow. He was grinning devilishly and his eyes just gave me all the wrong flags.

"What do you want?", I asked, turning my head back around and resting it on the palm of my hand.

"To...discuss some things, Protector,", He says, standing next to me. "You're smart and you know, that you're not just here to display affection towards Laurance."

"Kinda figured,", I shrugged. "Knowing you and your previous behaviors."

He chuckled and sat down this time. He seemed to be enjoying my attitude. I was shocked. Usually, when I acted like this, people would think I'm rude and have a hissy fit.

"You have a sparky side to you, Ro'Meave. No wonder Laurance likes you so much."

I rolled my eyes and just kept quiet, not wanting to continue with the topic. I decided to move on and ask;

"What did you really want to discuss?", I asked, turning my head towards him again while resting my arms on my knees.

"Well..,", He says, leaning on me. "You and me are sort of alike, Ro'Meave."

"Heh, really? Should I take that as an insult?"

"Ha ha, hilarious. No. We're both geniuses and we want the same thing."

"Which is?"

"Love. Attention."

I kept listening. Wanting a bit of evidence to his claim.

"I see how you flirt with all three of them. How you play with their heart strings,", He explains. "Just like how I want people to adore me and my values. I know your previous school didn't give that to you...kids can be mean, can't they?"

"How did you-"

"You talked to Laurance about it."

"Look, I don't mean to play around with all three of them,", I say, a bit aggravated at his claim. "I just...don't want to hurt them."

"Oh, really? So, cheating is better?"

"It's not cheating!"

He rolled his eyes and decided to move on.

"Look, I needed a partner. I got you."

"I'm not your partner. I'm your prisoner."

He got up and forced me to follow him through his magic. He went down the stairs and starting walking down the hall until light met his face through a window above a door. It made him look intimidating and dark.
