Dallon was amazing. I didn't know why or how I'd come to this conclusion, but I trusted him. He may have intimidated me earlier a few weeks ago because of the clique he's in, but I feel so protected when I'm with him by myself. Dallon taking me to Sonic meant so much to me. He was actually trying to become close to me. I don't know what his motive was, and I didn't care.

Dallon and I were sitting in a field of flowers to work on our presentation for chemistry, but we weren't getting much done. He brought a bag of food for us, and I brought my laptop. I was originally super nervous to spend two day with him outside of school, but I felt so comfortable next to him.

"Brenny Boy, what are you thinking about," I heard Dallon ask from beside me. I snapped out of my daze and reached for my whiteboard that was sat next to me in the grass. Dallon looked at where my hands went and frowned slightly. "O-oh I'm sorry. I'm just n-n-not used to being a-ab-able to actually speak to someone," I immediately apologized. "No, it's alright." He laid back in the grass and sighed as the breeze blew through his hair.

"I was just thinking about how far we've come since when we first met," I answered his previous question and laid next to him. He hummed in response. "Do you see that cloud," he asked, pointing at the cloud that was covering the sun from blinding us. "Yeah." He put his arm down and rested it on his stomach. "I hope it never moves," he told me. I laughed and picked a purple flower from the bunches of them distributed throughout the field. "Hey, Dallon," I whispered. "Hey, Brendon." I placed the flower on his nose and smiled at him. "Thanks," he chuckled.

We continued staring at the sky while laying next to each other. It didn't even occur to me how close we were until I complained about the ground. "The stupid ground is so uncomfortable, what the heck," I spoke. He switched his view from the sky to me. "Yeah?" I nodded. I saw him turn his head back towards the clouds but hesitate.

"You could lay your head against me if you want," he offered. It wasn't until then that I realized that I would barely have to shift my position in order for my head to be resting on him. "A-are you sure?" He shrugged. I moved so that I was laying with the back of my head leaning against his side. It was much more comfortable than the ground.

"Did you know that the Babylonians predicted the weather from cloud patterns," I heard Dallon say. I shook my head and turned to look at his face. "How'd you know that?" He grinned. "World history." The two of us talked and didn't figure out how we were going to do much of anything for our presentation, but I figured something else out. I never wanted to be away from Dallon.

Two weeks can make you fall hard. Whether he liked me as much or not, I still basked in the attention he gave me. I'd obviously prefer him feeling the same way, but anything was better than me not existing to him. "You're amazing," I mumbled as I felt myself dozing off.

"Brenny Boy," I heard quietly. I made a short whine of disapproval and moved my head slightly. "Hey, you've been asleep for like two hours, and we should probably get to work on this presentation." I opened my eyes to see Dallon carding his fingers through my hair. "What do you have done," I asked while stretching with a smile on my face. "I typed up the lab procedures, highlighted key parts of our lab reports to put in the presentation, and found a good website to make a graph with our data in it."

"Sounds good," my voice sounded rough as I spoke, probably from napping for two hours. "How'd m-my head get in your lap?" He laughed and continued playing with my hair. "I didn't want to be laying down, so I sat up," he explained. "Yeah, but you could've woken me. We didn't p-pl-plan this for me to take a-a nap." He shrugged and grinned down at me. "But you looked so sweet and peaceful."

My face flushed as he said that, and I sat up. "A-alright, well, let's get back to work," I tried desperately to change the subject. "No, wait. Are you blushing again?" I shook my head and tried to turn away to hide my face. "Aw, you are blushing," he cooed and pet my hair again. "St-stop it," I whined. "You're blushing," he awed. I giggled and sighed.

After about an hour of us working fairly silently, Dallon asked me a question that left my heart beating rapidly. "Do you want to make plans to do this next weekend? I don't know if stupid science bitch is going to make us present every week, but I like being around you," he said. The pit that I didn't realize was in my stomach immediately left.

In that moment, I saw his relaxed smile and bright eyes as the breeze pushed his hair over his forehead. He looked so happy. "I-I'd like that," I told him. "Me too." He nudged me lightly and placed a flower in my hair.

"Should we head back to my house? I mean it's 7 o'clock, and I don't have anything here for dinner." I nodded, taking one last look at the setting sun, and helped Dallon pack up.

"Y'know, if we get to my house quickly, I have something that I'd love to show you," Dallon smiled. "Okay." I went to walk to his car but was stopped. Dallon wrapped his arms around me and pulled me to his chest. "Thank you for being you, Brendon," he whispered. "Thank you for letting me."
