Tonight I was taking Bren to the movies. He was slightly of afraid of going to the movies because it's dark and has no security, but he said he trusted me to protect him. I loved that. I wasn't sure what movie we were going to see. Brendon chose it. I just wanted to be with him.

"Brendon, are you ready," I called after walking in through his garage. It was open. "Hello, who are you," I heard someone ask. My heart dropped as I made eye contact with Brendon's father. "I- um I'm Brendon's friend, sir. We're going to an educational seminar tonight. It's mandatory," I lied. "What's your name," he asked. What if Brendon talked about me and would get in trouble? "D-D-Da-all, let's go," Brendon stammered quickly as he ran down the stairs. "So, you are Dallon," Brendon's father raised an eye brow. Brendon did that too. However, it was endearing when Brendon did it, but his father's raised brow left me feeling uneasy.

"Yes, sir. Brendon is my lab partner in chemistry," I understated myself. "Yeah, I've heard a lot about you," he almost growled. "All good things, I hope," I laughed slightly. "I suppose. You're the one he likes hugging, right?" I felt my face tint red. Brendon hated his father but still managed to tell him about me. "I'd like to think so. I like hugging him too," I smiled fondly at Brendon who looked concerned. "Why are you hugging him? I thought you were only lab partners." I gulped. He sounded very aggressive.

"We're friends, sir. That's what friends do. It was a pleasure getting to finally meet you, but we have to be going. We can't be late to the seminar," I explained. My mouth was dry as I waited for him to dismiss us. "I understand. Thank you for taking him. I know how he can be," his father almost sighed. "Oh, not at all, sir. Brendon is nothing but a pleasure to be around." Brendon blushed but winced at his father moving. "No, honestly. Thank you for dealing with him." I frowned and stepped closer to Brendon. "He's no problem, sir. He's smart, kind-hearted, and sweet. I wouldn't ask for anything else in a friend," I told him. The man paused for a moment. "Yeah, I guess he's a good kid," his father admitted. Brendon looked up at him and smiled widely. "Th-thank you, D-D-a-ad," he stuttered out. "Go ahead, Bub. Your friend is waiting," he spoke firmly but placed a soft hand on Brendon's back.

We walked out to the car, and Brendon's smile almost split his face in two. "H-he hasn't called me B-Bub in years," he grinned. "I knew he w-would like you." I smiled back at him and kissed him on the cheek. "Doll, he called you Bub, not me. I don't think he sees happy you enough," I told him. "Dall, d-do you think he's o-okay? I-I mean I know that he h-h-hits me sometimes, but work ha-as been so terrible for him since m-my mom left," Brendon sympathized. "Bren, baby, there is no reason for him to hurt you." He nodded. "I-I guess. Could w-we have dinner with him one n-night ma-aybe," I heard from beside me. I looked over to see Brendon's pretty face was red. "Sure, love. We can plan on that."

Soon after the conversation died off, we pulled into the movie theater parking lot. Brendon's leg was bouncing. I remembered that the last time we had been to this theater I had really upset Brendon. "Love, what are we seeing," I asked. "Jurassic World," he giggled, biting his lip. "What's so funny," I asked. He continued laughing as I pouted. "You d-don't know what we're seeing, yet you still c-ame with me. It's sweet," he told me. "You're too cute," I grinned, kissing his neck and getting out of the car.

The movie previews went by quickly, and the lights shut off completely. "Love, you can hold my hand if the darkness is bothering you," I whispered. He nodded and grabbed my hand. "I'll be o-okay, Dall. You d-don't h-have to wor-ry about me," he told me and leaned his head on my shoulder. I smiled to myself and put a piece of popcorn in front of his mouth. He looked at me, confused.

"Open your mouth, baby," I spoke smoothly. Brendon's face heated up as he took the popcorn from me. "Y-you're stupid," he frowned. I found myself laughing and butterflies beating their wings in my stomach. "Hey, Brenny Boy, open wide," I smiled at him. "S-Stop making me la-augh, D," he giggled. My heart was fluttering, and my cheeks hurt from smiling. Brendon was everything to me, and sitting next to him in that movie theater, ignoring homework and all of the problems in our lives, was pure bliss.

"D-Dall, watch the movie," Brendon whisper-screamed at me, hitting my arm. "Brendon," I started. "What? They're trying to give T-rex blood to Blue," he told me, squeezing my hand excitedly. "I know, honey. I just wanted to tell you that I'm falling in love with you all over again." Brendon looked away from the screen. "Dallon," he spoke quietly. "I'm n-nothing special." My index and middle fingers found their way to under Brendon's chin and turned his face towards me. "You're everything special, my love," I whispered, leaning closer to him and kissing him softly.

"Let's watch the movie now, okay?" He nodded at me but furrowed his brows in confusion. "Th-that's it," he asked. "What do you mean, hun?" He sighed and smiled to himself. "You n-never finish things like-like that with j-j-just a small k-kiss," he pointed out. "Yeah? I want you to be able to watch the movie. I can't have my one and only true love miss the movie, can I?" Brendon's face tinted in the dark. "Do you m-mean that," he asked. I nodded and kissed the back of his hand. "More than anything."
