Just quickly I wanted to say that I'm not very happy with this particular story, I just think it's a little half-baked and not really completed but I couldn't think of a way to make it better. Maybe I'll go back and fix it in the future but as for now, enjoy.

Damian's POV
It had been exactly two weeks and counting since the death of Dick Grayson and nobody was taking it well, especially Mar'i. I wrapped my arms around her waist and kissed the top of her head, "I'm so so sorry Mar'i. I should've been there." I murmured as she shook her head, "None of us knew." She sombrely whispered. I nodded and nervously twisted the gold band that was around my finger, "Yes, I suppose you're correct." I murmured, rolling onto my back and glancing around our pitch black bedroom.

She tugged the blankets over her shoulders and sighed, "Dami-" She hiccuped, trying to hold back rattling sobs. I embraced her, smoothing back her hair, "Shhh." I hushed in comforting tones, "It's okay. Everything's okay." I reassured as she wiped the tears from her face, "I have to tell you something." She shakily said as I nodded, "Of course." I nodded as she turned to me and sat up, blinking away new tears that had gathered in her eyes, "You know the uh-- the thing..." She murmured as I patiently waited for her to say what she needed to say. "Ah-- forget that. I'll just tell you, on three okay?" She took a shaky breath and counted down, "One... two... three... I'm pregnant." She forced out as I gaped in shock, "Oh, wow, that's..." She noted my hesitation and quietly asked, "You're not happy?"

Instantly I sat up and hugged her, kissing her quickly, "No, of course I'm happy. It's just that... it would be so much better if he were still here." I explained, my voice getting rougher and rougher as I spoke.

She nodded and held back tears, "That's why I didn't want to tell you." She squeaked as I nodded and kissed the top of her head, "I understand. I'll always be here to talk if you need it." I added as she nodded and briefly pressed her lips to mine, "I love you." She whispered as I half-smiled for the first time in weeks, "I love you too."
