Damian's POV
I nervously looked to Stephanie, "Maybe this is a bad idea, let's go." I said as she shook her head, "Nope, you said you wanted to get an engagement ring for Mar'i so that's what you're going to do." She said as I shook my head, "It's too soon. Let's leave before someone notices us." I insisted as she rolled her eyes, "You've been together since you were sixteen. That's seven years." She exaggeratedly said as I nodded, "Okay fine. You're right." I sighed, pushing my hair out of my face, "Just help me get a ring." I asked as she nodded and pointed at one that lay to the far right of the glass case, "How about that one?" She suggested as I dismissively shook my head, "No, it has to be perfect."

I continued to meticulously look through the rings as she pointed out different ones which I constantly rejected. "Damian!" She snapped, "Just pick one!" She irritatedly growled as I sighed, "It's not that easy Brown. You're already married, you don't have to worry about rings." I hissed as she shrugged, "Yeah, just have to worry about kids now." She grumbled as I raised an eyebrow, "You're not with child, are you?" I asked as she shook her head, "No. It's just that Tim wants kids but I don't think we're ready, blah blah blah." She sighed as I shrugged and continued to browse the massive collection of glistening diamonds.

After another half an hour of searching I saw it. "Steph!" I exclaimed, "This is it. This is the one." I murmured as she rushed to my side and stared at the ring that my gaze was so intently fixed on. It had an intricate, rose gold band, encrusted with smaller diamonds that lead to one larger diamond in the middle of the ring. "Wow, that's beautiful." She breathed as I nodded, "Do you think Mar'i will like it?" I asked as she nodded, "She loves you, of course she'll like it." She reassured as I smiled, "Then I guess I'll buy it."

I unlocked the door and stepped inside, throwing my coat on the coat rack that was beside the door. Immediately Mar'i ran out and hugged me, pressing kisses all over my face, "How was your day?" She asked as I laughed and kissed her properly. I broke away and said, "It was fine."

She grinned and stepped away, spinning around so her red dress flared out around her, "I was thinking we could go out tonight." She suggested as I nodded, "Yeah, but first..." I began to feel adrenaline buzzing through my veins and my vision became blurry, "Um..." I drew the box out of my pocket and knelt down on one knee. She gasped and tears sprung to her eyes, "Dami, are you...?" She whispered as I looked up at her, "Will you marry me?" I asked as she sniffled and nodded, "Of course I will." She pulled me up and kissed me, her lashes fluttering against my cheekbones. I grinned and put the ring on her finger, "I love you."
