They had had arguments before, but never ones like this. This has been going on all night, screaming profanities at each other because they couldn't think of any better arguments, switching between yelling and tears and soundly talking before lapsing back into the screaming.

"You son of a bitch!" She screamed as he clenched his fists at his sides. "Just shut up! Shut up! I don't care anymore!" He yelled. Her eyes began to faintly glow bright purple, something that only happened when she was angry enough to let all hell break loose.

"Why won't you ever just listen to me!?" She grabbed his wrist and he flicked his eyes over to meet her furious gaze. "I do listen to you." He gritted his teeth as he spoke. She scoffed and rolled her eyes in response. "You nearly died! I told you to let me go with you!" She half-screamed half-sobbed, tears falling from her eyes.

He stubbornly clenched his jaw and looked away from her. "I'm fine. I was never in jeopardy in the first place." He grumbled as she angrily widened her eyes, "You were stabbed!" She screamed as he huffed in exasperation, "I was grazed." He corrected.

As soon as he said it he regretted it, seeing his angered girlfriend's hair burst into flames. A sharp crack rung out through the room and and he hissed through his teeth, wincing at the surprising pain. She had slapped him. He resisted the urge to put his hand to his cheek and glared at her without speaking.

Tears came to her eyes and she pulled him forwards, crashing her lips against his. "You scared me so much." She sobbed, her lips brushing against his as she spoke. He cautiously wrapped his arms around her. "I know." He whispered soothingly, stroking her hair back. "You're such an ass." She sniveled. "Yeah, I know that too." He muttered with a nod. "You can't keep doing this to me." She blinked away tears and he kissed away the remaining tears on her face. "I'm sorry." He gruffly whispered as she tightly hugged him. "You're stupid." She muttered. He nodded. "Also correct." He mumbled into her hair, kissing her temple repeatedly. When he was all affectionate like this it was hard not to melt in his arms.

"Y'know, sometimes I feel like I should break up with you..." She sniffled. He felt hot waves of anxiety wash over him and held his breath. "But you make it too damn hard." She stepped away from him and he sighed in relief. "Holy fuck, Mar'i. You can't just say you wanna break up with me and then pause that long." He pushed his hair back and she almost smiled. "Come on, Damian. You know I love you too much to end things with you." She moved her hair to one side of her neck and grinned at him. "But I am going to go home." She said.

He frowned. "No, why don't you stay?" He whined. She rolled her eyes and stepped away, tethered to Damian by their interlaced fingers. "I'm still incredibly mad at you." She muttered, but he snugly smiled pulled her in for a kiss. "Please stay. I need you." He requested.

She put her hands on his shoulders and rested her fingers on the nape of his neck. "Hm?" She playfully asked, quirking an eyebrow. "Stay with me." He murmured. Unable to stop herself, she pressed her lips to his. "Okay." She vigorously nodded once they had broken apart, completely breathless.

He grinned and she stepped away, "But you're injured so we're not-"
"Yeah, yeah." He grumbled with a smug smirk before briefly kissing her once more.

"Just hug me." He held out his arms and she laughed, "Are you still on painkillers or something?" She asked as he angrily pouted and wrapped her in his arms.

"Aw, Dami just wants to cuddle." She giggled and hugged him back, planting a short kiss on his collarbone. "No I don't." He denied. She rolled her eyes. "You're so stubborn." She huffed, poking him in the chest. He fell back onto the couch and Mar'i sat beside him, wrapping them in a blanket and resting her head in his lap. "Movie?" She suggested. He nodded, playing with her hair. "Yeah." He couldn't help but plant soft kisses on her throat under her ear, which made her contently hum.

Together they sat, curled up on the couch watching a movie until the sun rose above the horizon.
