Damian's POV
I clambered through the window, breathing heavily as blood seeped from the gash in my abdomen. Trying to be as quiet as possible, I locked myself in the bathroom, grabbing the medical kit and collapsing to the floor, wincing as I peeled off my shirt to find the knife still impaled in my skin.

More and more blood started to spill from the wound when I heard Mar'i's soft voice call out from behind the door. "Dami? Are you okay?" She asked. I grunted in response, trying to pry the knife from my stomach. "Damian!" I could tell she was beginning to worry. "I'm fine, Beloved." I muttered, raggedly gasping as the knife moved. "Damian, I can smell blood. I'm coming in." She pulled the door open, disregarding the lock, and widened her eyes when seeing me. "Dami!" She fell to her knees and frantically touched around the wound, panicking as blood spilt over her fingers. "Just... get the knife... out." I hissed as she nodded and quickly pulled it out. I yelped in pain, hissing through my teeth to stop myself from making any other unprecedented noises.

"I'm so sorry!" She squeaked, tears in her eyes. I grabbed her arm. "Mar'i, stop." I mumbled in a shaky voice, watching as she blinked tears from her eyes. "What do you mean?" She asked. I began to feel my vision go hazy so I reached out and ran my hands up her arms and over her hips, eventually resting them on her face, "I love you." I murmured. She began to shiver, fear evident in her eyes. "You're gonna be okay." She whispered, grabbing a fluffy towel and pressing it to my stomach.

It almost instantly soaked red and she frustratedly threw it away, reaching for a new one when I stopped her.

"Mar'i!" I weakly snapped. She immediately turned towards me and I stroked my thumb along her cheekbone. "I love you." I said again as tears streamed down her cheeks. "I love you too." She gently pressed her lips to mine as I felt myself spiral.

The girl knelt over his limp body, sobbing over him. She moved to touch him when she saw his blood smattered all over her hands and felt an ear-piercing scream rip from her throat. She put her hand to his chest and tried to feel for a pulse, but there was none to be found.

"Damian... don't leave me..." She sobbed, gently touching his face. "You promised me..." She wasn't even making sense at this point, but she didn't care. The man she loved was dead, and without him, she was just as lost.

Sorry for the short one 😕
