Handsome stranger

He had immediately caught her attention, the second he stepped foot in the room. There was just something about him that was so... enticing. She had just wanted to touch him, run her hands over his chest and through his ebony hair. His hair that was so dark it made her wonder if it would leave black marks on her hands if she touched it.

He sat down with his friend and took a glass of champagne from a passing waiter who had an entire tray loaded with glasses. He glanced her way and she noticed his eyes, dark green, like nothing she had ever seen before.

She carefully observed his face, taking note of his high cheekbones and strong jaw and the fact that he never seemed to smile. She craved to see him smile, just once.

He moved a hand, adjusting his tie. How was it possible for one person to be so stunning. He caught her looking at him and she quickly lifted her gaze to the painting behind him, feigning interest until his eyes drifted back over to his friend.

She watched him again, seeing him smirk at a comment that must have been made. Almost a smile, but not quite. Although, even without a smile, he seemed amused, a little twinkle in his eye that made her so incredibly curious as to who he was.

Was he just another person? Or perhaps someone like her, or maybe someone totally different.

She turned away when she felt a tap on her shoulder, "Mar'i, your agent wants to talk to you about the movie. Apparently they want to sign you to some sort of three picture deal. Whatever that means." Her best friend, Lian, excitedly informed. She nodded in response and turned back to the guy she was staring at before to steal one last glance. A glance she regretted.

She watched as a girl in a red dress approached him, casually putting a hand on his shoulder. He spun around and grinned, quickly kissing her.

Mar'i felt her heart sink. He had finally smiled, just not for her. She shook her head, trying to clear her mind. It really didn't matter, after all, he was just another handsome stranger.
