After what seemed like hours of silently walking through the dense woodland area without an end in sight, both of the males were relieved to see their old cabin in the near distance, standing in front of the shallow lake that was still surfaced behind it through the trees and bushes. It was a rather calming sight for the two of them to notice how the house that they found sanctuary, it was still all in one piece even after all the storms and wind that had occurred since they had left it several months ago to move into the manor. "Let's get inside now before we completely freeze to death." The canine-hybrid muttered under his breath to Beck as the two of them went forward to the familiar cabin that they would be spending the next full month in without anyone around except themselves for company. It would be both a blessing and a curse for both males, but mostly just a cursed blessing would be the correct word for it as they had now reached their destination. It seemed silent for the most part around them in the forest with the small exception of the passing breeze that made them both shiver from time to time now and again. Without further ado, however, the mates quickly went over to the cabin at a quickened pace before Beck opened the door to the house, which took a bit of force since the cold had made it slightly stuck from all the frost and slight ice that gathered nearby. Nonetheless, the wooden door creaked open with a slight squeak coming from it as the two peered into the darkened home that showed little use from the last time that they had lived here, but luckily for them, it was still all there. There was nothing broken or out of place, everything looks exactly the same from what they had been used to. However, there was still that terrible chill in the air that made the slightly shorter male grumble as he went inside, releasing the firm grip that he had around Beck's hand as he stalked towards the fireplace. The brown-haired hybrid walked inside a few seconds after Henry had, looking around at the furniture that was still here in one piece without any worn or tears to it. He looked over to the canine-hybrid, who was grabbing the last several logs that rested beside the stone fireplace and rested them down without any hesitation, just wanting to keep the cabin warm for both of them. Henry could feel the other male's eyes on him as he did this, but made no comment about it, knowing that Beck, ever since they had first starting knowing each other, had always been strangely fascinated with his fire commandment powers. In his opinion, he didn't understand why it was so interesting to him, due to the fact that Rebecca didn't bat an eye when he had done it in the past, but the raven-haired male decided not to question such things and just be glad that someone was not at all terrified in any particular way that he, a demon, had these powers. After all, Henry had been the one to burn down the first mansion without even breaking a single sweat while doing so.
"Hopefully this will last us for awhile and warm up the whole cabin while I go gather more firewood." The raven-haired male mentioned as he unzipped his black-colored coat without any more words and unwrapped the knitted scarf from around his neck as he rested the winter wear on the floor beside him as he lifted a hand and without any more hesitation, the canine-hybrid had a small orange fireball crackling within his palm. It had been awhile since he had used these powers of his, he hadn't needed them for anything until now, but it was nice to know that he could still use them so easily after all this time. In Henry's own mindset, this was one of the only things that he found to be unique and useful from him, but even with that, he would remember that his older brother, Hyde, possessed the same skill, which didn't make him so special as he pretended to be at certain times. Henry decided to not get down because of this and just focus on the task at hand while Beck just watched from nearby. The hybrid tossed the fireball onto the logs with a small huff coming from him as the wood immediately lit up in a fiery blaze that made the cabin glow with a warm, orange-like hue. He looked back at Beck with a raise of an eyebrow as he gestured to the fire. "Voila!" The hybrid exclaimed with a bit of a false sense of pride in his accomplishment, which made Beck smile and gives a little laugh as he sat down on the couch in front of the fireplace with a certain purr coming from him. Although it was not noticeable by many people, something that Henry loved to do when it makes the older male laugh, even if it was something stupid that caused it. His laughter was something that made him feel very happy and warm all over, even though he appeared to be in a silent, stubborn mood almost all the time. The raven-haired male now stood up, grabbing his winter clothes and hanging them up on a hook that was on the wall near the door. As he did this, Henry noticed how it was already starting to get dark outside and he remembered how when this season rolled around, the days became much shorter and it got to nighttime quicker than any other time of the year. "Are you still planning on going hunting?" He heard Beck ask him and the male looked down at the floor for a moment, "It's getting rather late and it'll be colder than in the daytime." The canine-hybrid knew that his mate was only worried about him and how he would be out there on his own, but there was a certain responsibility he took when being here in this cabin with his love. He turned around and walked back over to the fireplace, proceeding to sit down next to the brown-haired hybrid as they both warmed up from the heat of the fire now still crackling in front of them. "We don't have any fresh food to start off the month and it would be my best bet to go out hunting at night anyways, I work better in the darkness." Henry simply told Beck, but the brown-haired male tried to get him to stay once again. "We'll be fine for one night without food, Henry, the two of us can go out hunting tomorrow morning. We're both tired after all that walking and need to-" Beck began to say, but the canine-hybrid shot the older male a hardened look that made him abruptly stop speaking. "No. I'm going out to hunt tonight and you are going to stay here where it is safe and warm." He said, his tone coming out with a hint of sternness, "I will be back in about an hour or an hour and thirty minutes at the latest. Then I'm all yours for the rest of the night, okay?" He thought this would win Beck over.
This did not, however, to his surprise, as older male looked to the fireplace for a moment in silence before speaking again. "Well, that's the thing actually.." Beck said, rubbing the back of his neck for a few seconds as he would look at Henry with a slight smile, "I was wondering if you could take over this time around, you know? I think I've called too many of the shots between us and now that we're married, due to your proposal, that the least I can do is let you be in charge of our relationship now." This ultimately caught the canine-hybrid off guard to the point where he was speechless for a rather long period of time as his gaze drifted back down to the carpet between them and the fireplace. Beck saw unknown emotions go through his mate's olive green-hued eyes until a frown formed on the raven-haired male's face. "No." He said with a slight growl before standing up without even looking at his mate, "I'm going hunting like I said I would. I'll be back later." Without another word, Henry walked away from Beck and over to the door to the cabin, opening it and shifting into his feral form. He stalked outside in the chilling cold forest as the door shut automatically behind him from the force of the wind. It was the first time in months that Beck had ever seen Henry actually mad at him and it broke his heart to see the canine walk away from him without any hesitation in his stance. Hyde's distant words once again rung through the older male's mindset, the ones where he said that the canine-hybrid had always held back in their relationship when it came to be the one in charge for various reasoning that Beck would have to discover, mostly, on his own. Despite this, it seemed to physically give Beck a deepened ache within himself, straight to the core, to have Henry angry at him. Sure, he had been angry at him before, but that was before they dated, before they had formed this intimate connection. He raised his legs up onto the couch and hugged his knees close to his chest as he looked at the fireplace for a long period of time before he lifted his hand and gazed at the blackened ring that he wore on his finger, seeing the heartbeat on his mate on the surface of it through a thin red line. He found himself wondering what to do at this very moment now that Henry was off hunting or had just gone away to get away from him. Just thinking about that terrified him beyond belief now and he shook his head, looking back at the front door of the cabin, wondering if it would be wise to run after his mate. No, that would make matters way worse, without a doubt. Beck couldn't bring himself to just go to sleep as if nothing had happened, that wasn't how he was or how he had ever been, for that matter. All the feline-hybrid could do was just sit here and think, silently hoping that Henry would return.
