College mom-to-be

Chapter 2

When I wake Saturday morning, I attempt to sit up. That fails miserably unfortunately. I end up falling right back down with a massive headache. I wait a few seconds and try to open my eyes. UUGGGHH I feel like I'm getting hit with a rock 1,000 times in a row!! Eyes now squinting i turn my head slowly and don't recognize the furniture or belongings I'm seeing. I turn my head and practically fall out of bed.

"OWW" I whimper. Suddenly I hear a groan from the man that's on the other side of the bed I had just been in. I look down and here I am... naked on the freezing wood floor. Now scared of what the hell happened last night, I hurry as fast as I can and gather the clothes I had worn last night and walk out the door. I'm really hoping it's not what it looks like but I know that it is exactly what it looks like. I walk down hoping no one will see me almost falling down the stairs. I get to the bottom and I wander into what I think is the kitchen hoping to find some advil or something to help with this pounding headache. I look in the room and smell eggs and bacon and there sits Brayden, the guy I talked to outside last night. His back is facing me so I walk around the counter now face to face with him.

"Lindsey?! Hey!" I'm sure he only said it in a normal voice but it sounded like he was yelling into a blow horn.

"shit.... shit." I say while holding my hands to my ears trying to protect them from the sound.

"Oh. crap I'm sorry hold on" He says way more quieter. He then walks over to a cabinet above the sink and grabs me an advil and a glass of water. He holds them out towards me and I gratefully take it and quickly gulp it down. I lean up against the counter putting my head in my hands. When I look up Brayden is holding out a plate of food to me.

"Oh gosh. Thank you. I'm so hungry!" I laugh quietly and take a spoon full of some scrambled eggs.

"So you have fun last night then?" He starts a conversation.

"Well what I can remember yeah. I can't remember a lot though.... " I try and think about it. I'll have to ask that guy I was with what happened once he woke up. The rest of the meal is eaten in silence. Once I'm done I ask Brayden if he saw the girl I was with and unfortunately he says no. I start wandering around the house seeing people passed out on chairs, on the couch, and on the floor, none of them Katelynn though. I go to the front door and look out to see that indeed her car is gone. Guess I'm gonna have to get a ride or something. I walk up to the room where I woke up and the guy is no longer there but I hear the shower on in the bathroom that's connected to his room. I decide not to bother him so I get my purse and I go search for Brayden.

"Hey.... I don't mean to bother you but... would you mind driving me home?"

"Yeah no problem." He smiled.

We get in his red camaro and pull out. I begin to put my address in his GPS like he told me to and we start down the road in silence. He speaks up as I finish putting in my address, "Music?" I nod and he plugs his phone into the radio. Soon enough eminem starts playing through the car. To be honest I'm not a rap kind of girl.... at all, but I didn't want to be rude so rap it is. About 10 minutes later he pulls into Katelynn and I's apartment. When we started school together we made the decision to get an apartment because there was no way I was joining a sorority and we didn't want to stay in the dorms they had either.

"Thanks for giving me a ride." I told him

"No problem...... Hopefully I'll be seeing you around campus soon." Was that a flirt? I held back a laugh and told him I hoped to see him too and then made my way into the lobby. I look in my purse and grab my keys once I get to the room door. As soon as I get through the door I see a guy I don't recognize eating cereal at my table. I freeze not knowing what to do but Katelynn comes around the corner in nothing but a towel and looks at me surprised.

"Oh Lindsey! This is Mason." She says smiling the whole time. Whore..... but I love her ;)

"Um. Hi. Kate I'm gonna get washed up, but uh thanks for leaving me at the house last night. I appreciate it." I laugh and she replies with, "You made it back didn't ya?". That's Kate for ya. I walk down the hall while laughing at her response.

Once I'm in my room I get a pair of yoga shorts, a black tank top, a bra, and underwear and go into the shower. I lock both doors so the stranger eating MY CORN FLAKES won't come in. Once I get in the water I really start thinking and trying to remember. The water starts getting cold and I head out. I put on my clothes and walk out of the bathroom. I go to my room and pretty much hang out there for the rest of the day not really wanting to talk to anyone or go out. I take the time to read one of my favorite books, The Fault in Our Stars. Soon enough it's already midnight and I fall asleep.
