“Woah come here.” I motioned my hands towards me and took Conner’s hand in mine. I placed his palm on a spot on my stomach.
“Is he kicking?!” I nodded and he stared at the spot where Mason was kicking. “Wow that’s…. weird.
“Hey your not the one who’s got him inside you.” I laughed.
“You ready to head to school m’lady?” he held out his arm which I gladly hooked on to mine. The familiar tune of a lady antebellum song came on as we headed down the street.
“Slip on my favorite dress and sky high leather boots
Check the mirror one last time
And kiss the past goodbye
What I’m really needing now
Is a double shot of Crown
Chase that disco ball around
‘Til I don’t remember
Go until they cut me off
Wanna get a little lost
In the noise, in the lights
Hey bartender pour ‘em hot tonight
‘Til the party and the music and the truth collide
Bring it ‘til his memory fades away
Hey bartender” I sang along to one of my favorite songs. For now anyways.
“You’re a good singer Lindsey.” he said looking into my eyes as we were stopped at a red light.
“Thank you” I said as my cheeks got redder and redder. I hate how much I blush. Even after being with Conner for a few months I still blush like crazy over the little stuff. A few minutes later we pulled into the college parking lot. As I got out of the big truck I noticed the one person I didn’t want to see. Brayden. I looked down hoping he wouldn’t see me as Conner and I walked towards the building but to late.
“Hey how ya doin prego?” he laughed. I saw Conner’s face get red as he got angrier but I shook my head and kept walking.
“Hey hoe! Can you not hear?”
“Leave her alone or else!” Conner yelled before I could get the chance to tell him to let it go.
“He’s not even worth it let’s just go.” I whispered.
“No. Brayden what did she ever do to you to make you want to treat her like that? HUH?! You better back off before I-” before he could finish Brayden slammed his fist onto his jaw.
“Before you what?” he laughed turning away. Just then Conner stepped in front of him and swung bringing him to the ground.
“Conner stop!” I pleaded, but he kept punching. Don’t get me wrong. Brayden deserved this but we were on school grounds and he has his football and I don’t want him in any trouble because of me. Brayden now had blood all over his face from his bloody nose. His eyes turning purple. Before I knew what was going on Conner was getting escorted into a cop car driving away with the sirens.
