Chapter 11

"Who are you?" A familiar voice said.

"Conner." Conner? What is he doing here? Where am I in the first place? I try and open my eyes and I'm laying in a hospital bed and Kate and Adam are on both sides of me.

"Oh so you're the guy I've gotta kill...." a now visible Adam said.

"And you are?" Conner asked suspiciously.

"My brother Adam" I tried to say but it came out more like a whisper.

"Lindsey!! You scared us so bad! Especially since you just had that dream last night!" Kate beamed.

"The baby. Please tell me the baby is fine." I asked now with tears coming.

"The baby's fine Linds. The doctors said you were very lucky. But they checked and everything seems normal." Adam smiled. I sighed in relief and when I looked up Conner was at the foot of the bed looking down.

Kate noticed too, "Adam and I are going to go downstairs and get some food okay?" I nodded and they left after Adam protested many times. Once they were gone, Conner came to sit on my right side where Kate previously was.

"Linds," he started, bringing my hand to his forehead and closing his eyes. "I'm so sorry. I didn't mean anything I said to you Sunday when you came over. I was in shock. I was scared. I still am scared, but I promise you," he said now looking into my eyes, "I will never leave you or hurt you again. I will never disown our baby again Lindsey. If anything would've happened to you," then he paused and looked at my still small stomach and rested his hand on top, " Would've happen to our little peanut... I don't know what I'd do. My fiance died in a car accident....... Your the first girl I've liked since her and I wasn't gonna let this happen again. Thank you." He said grabbing my hand again. When he looked up he had tears in his eyes. So did I. I couldn't get anything out, I was speechless but I managed to get three words out. "No, Thank you." I dont know why but I needed that more than anything right now. A moment later and a nurse walked into the room.

"Hello Ms. Taylor. How are you feeling?"

"Good."

"Okay well you've got a few scratches and small bruises but everything else looks okay except for your right wrist?", If only she knew that wasn't from the accident. "You've already stayed here over night, everything is running normal so I brought you some papers to fill out and once you're done you'll be all set to go home. Any questions?" She asked.

"Wait I've been here over night? How long was I out?"

"Well it says here you were admitted at 11:42 am yesterday and it is 5:14 pm now."

Wow I slept a while! I said okay and then she handed me the papers to fill out then left, "Um Conner? Would you fill this out? The hand I write with is the one that hurts..." Then he took the clipboard and started asking me questions to fill in. As he writes in all the stuff I take a second to actually think. This is what I wanted. Obviously not the hospital part but him being there for me when I need him. This is how it's supposed to be, even though I'm laying in a hospital bed, I couldn't be happier at this very moment. Before he finished, in walks Kate and Adam. Kates smiling when she looks over at us, Adam.... not so much. He's more like glaring into Conners soul and killing him over and over and over. Adam had a tub of stuff though and when he got closer it happened to be my clothes and my belongings that were in my truck.Ugh my truck..... I really hope I didn't total my brand new truck... Once he was at the end I had to sign a few things and then we were done. Conner took the papers and went to go find the nurse to give them back and then Adam went to the hall so I could change. I honestly need help because i have a giant scratch or bruise on my shoulder and it hurts like hell when I try to move my left arm, so Kate stayed back and helped me.

"So....What's up with you and Conner now?" She asked me?

"We really haven't talk about it until now. But everythings good now, thank God." I laughed not going into detail.

Once I was done the boys came back in and I grabbed my stuff. When Adam and Kate weren't paying attention Conner asked if he could come to the apartment. Of course I said okay.

"Hey guys, I'm gonna pick up some food on the way over. What do you guys want?" he asked all of us.

"Lets just get a pepperoni pizza." Adam said

"I've got peppers to eat at home too" I told them.

"Linds you hate anything spicy or hot?" Kate said confused.

"Yeah but the baby love it." We all laugh and then Conner goes, "That's my boy."

"How do you know it's a boy?" I asked him

"Just a feeling." He replied.

"Hate to say it Linds, but I agree with the doofus. I think it's a boy too." Adam tell me. I laugh at his reference to 'doofus' and so does the others. How do you know? I don't understand how they think this? I have no clue what the baby is.

"Who's riding with Conner? He doesn't know where we live." Kate thought.

"I will." I told them.

"Okay well let's get going then."

We head down to the vehicles and Conner helps me get into his truck. These people think I'm handicapped now but really, I'm fine. We drive in silence all the way to little caesars and once he's got the pizza and pop we start heading to the apartment.

"It's Wednesday right?"

"Yeah?" he replied.

"So did you skip school then?" I asked him.

"Yeah... Some of yesterday to but they wouldn't let me see you yesterday because they were doing tests and checking up on you and stuff."

After a while he spoke up again. "So remember when Kate said she got scared cause you had a dream last night? What was that about?" Conner started. Shit....

"I had a dream that I got in an accident and lost the baby and you were really mad and so was Brayden and you guys were yelling at me and stuff...." I said quietly.

He looked over at me for a second, "I would never yell at you for losing a baby Linds. And as for Brayden, I might kill him for starting that and I've heard what he's done to you, but to be sure. Is that bruise on your wrist from him?"

I said nothing and looked out the window trying to avoid contact. "That's what I thought. He'll regret that." The rest of the way to my place was spent in silence. Once we got there I offered to carry something but he refused. So I just held open doors for him even though he almost refused for me to do that too because it not "gentlemen like" (as he put it) of him to not hold the door for me. We got up to the apartment and the boys dug in where Kate and I were just eating slowly. I was eating my peppers too. Adam tried to take a pepper but this baby is very selfish and didn't give him any. I took a shower when we were done because I was in a hospital all night. When I got out Kate was making popcorn and the boys were arguing over which movie to watch. It was between Batman the dark knight rises and Spiderman 3.

"LINDSEY WHICH MOVIE?!" Adam yelled not knowing I was right there obviously.

"Spiderman?" he asked.

"Or Batman?" Conner said.

"How about we watch The Fault in Our Stars?" Kate suggested bringing my favorite movie and a big bowl of popcorn. (Spoiler alert if you want to skip it! )

"Got my vote." I laughed and both the boys groaned in defeat.

We put in the movie and I cuddled up to Conner and we pushed play. Almost two hours later and all four of us had tears in our eyes. I think Adam was the worst.

"Katelynn he wasn't supposed to die! They were supposed to live happily ever after. They were just so cute. She will never be able to move on!" Adam let out. I couldn't even cry anymore cause I had started laughing at him.

"Oh baby it's okay" Kate told him but she was trying to keep from him seeing her laughing too. After the credits rolled through, we turned on Kevin Hart. Half way through the movie, Kate and Adam went to her room which is basically their room now. I was tired too but I didn't want to move. Conner has his arm wrapped around me and my arms were around him almost like I was hugging him. It is so comfortable. I could stay in this spot forever.
