I hesitantly start walking towards the living room. Adam's watching America's Funniest Home Videos on Netflix. When he sees me, he notices some things up probably by the look on my face and he turns down the TV.
"What's up lil' sis?" he asks me. Kate sits down next to him and takes his hand and I sit down on the coffee table in front of them.
"I think i might be............ pregnant" I say getting quieter with every word especially when it comes to the word pregnant.
He laughs as if its a joke, "No really, what's going on Linds?" I put my head down and Kate tries looking in his eyes and he just stares at me looking for an answer. His face literally turns from one emotion to another. He's got an angry look on his face and I can't seem to bring myself to look at him.
"You're kidding right?! You're not THAT stupid, are you?!" he raises is voice. I can't stand him yelling at me. I keep quiet still, not even knowing what to say. "LINDSEY ROSE TAYLOR ANSWER ME!"
"Im not kidding" I whisper.
He stands up and storms out of the apartment and a few minutes later I hear tires skidding on the asphalt of the building parking lot. I lower my head and start to cry and Kate comes next to me and hugs me tight. She doesn't say anything but still she's comforting me. It's only 2:30 in the afternoon and so much has happened already. I hear a doorbell and walk slowly to the door not sure of who it could be. I open the door and there stands a smiling Brayden in a tight black T-shirt and some blue jeans. I completely forgot about hanging out with him! His smile fades as he realizes something's wrong. He's supposed to be here at 3. It's only 2:32.
"Is everything alright?"
"Yeah sorry. I'm not ready, could you give me like two seconds?" I ask. I really am not in the mood to go out anywhere but I've never been the kind of person that cancels on someone.
"No problem, I came early anyways. I just thought we could get some food before the concert but I'm sure they'll be food there too." I nod and invite him inside then make my way to my room. I do my hair and makeup first. I put on some eyeliner on the bottom and some mascara and I just brush out my hair. Once I'm done I grab a pair of light denim shorts, a dark red hoodie, and a pair of red converse out of my closet. As I'm changing my shirt I look into my wall mirror and put my hands on my stomach. How could something be in there right now. My stomachs still flat as ever but in a couple months I won't be able to hide this and you better know that until I show a lot and people catch on, there is no way I'm telling people besides family and really close friends and the dad of the baby inside of me. I realize that I've been staring at my stomach and that Brayden's waiting out there for me. I hurry and put my hoodie on and then walk out to see Brayden and Kate awkwardly sitting on the couch. I clear my throat and they both turn around.
"You look great." Brayden smiles.
"Thank you. Shall we go?"
He nods and I say goodbye to Kate. The 20 minute ride is contained with me singing along with every song that came on the radio. We pull into a theater parking lot and there's about 50 cars smashed in the small lot. He turns off the car and takes off his seat belt and races out of the car. Confused I start taking off my seat belt and then realize what he's doing. What a gentleman. He opens the passenger door and lets me out. I smile without saying a word and he leads me into the medium sized building. When we get to the front Brayden pays the guy to get in after we have an argument on who should pay. Honestly I could've payed but he just had to be a gentlemen. I'm acting like that's a bad thing right now but it's actually great. There are few men in this world that I have seen that have manners and treat us women like ladies. We get through the door and it's packed. We find a seat and leave our stuff sitting in them to save them so we can go get some food.
"How may I help you?" The guy at the counter asks.
"A hot dog, a bag of spicy hot Cheetos and a bottle of Pepsi. What would you like?" Brayden asks me.
"Um, can I get a hot dog, a bag of Frito's, and a bottle of water? Thanks." I say with a smile. The guy got our food after Brayden once again paid and we came back to our seats to eat. Just as we were sitting down the lights went dim and someone went on stage and started talking through the speakers.
"HELLO EVERYBODY! ARE YOU READY TO HEAR SOME MUSIC?!" He all but yelled into the microphone making me wince from how loud it is.
"GIVE IT UP FOR MY MAN JEREMY AND HIS CREW!" Then came on a few guys and the one looked very familiar.
"WOO GO JEREMY!" I heard Brayden yell next to me. They started singing and they weren't that bad at all but I kept wondering where I'd seen that guy who I'm guessing is Jeremy because he's front and center. Then it comes to me. He is a football player for my school. When Brayden said this was local I didn't know he meant this local!
A few more bands went on until we were done and I was exhausted and ready for bed. We walked back to his car and started down the road back to my apartment.
"So did you have fun?" He asked.
"Yeah I did actually. It was a great time." I told him.
He looked over and said, "Well I'm glad you had fun." I smiled at him and then turned my head to look out my window. I felt myself quickly falling asleep. I told you that exhausted me. It lasted for a few hours I guess because now it is already 7.
I open my eyes to a light shaking and look over to see that we are now in my apartment parking lot. Geez it seems like I closed my eyes literally like 5 seconds ago. He goes around and gets the door for me again and he walks me up to my room on the 3rd floor.
"Thanks for coming I had a great time." He smiled.
"Thanks for inviting me Brayden I had a great time also."
He leaned in and kissed me on the cheek. "I will see you at school Monday." And with that he walks down the hall while I'm left to think about what he just did. I thought this was just a friendly hangout but now that I think about it, all of his actions seem like a date. Crap, I especially don't need relationship drama right now when I'm already going to have baby drama. I grab my keys out of my purse and unlock the door to find Adam watching tv with Kate on the couch. They look over at me and he starts to say something but I have to cut him off because I'm too tired to have a big conversation right now.
"We can talk tomorrow. Right now I just want to go to sleep. Love you guys night." With that I turn around and walk down the hall to my bedroom and kick off my shoes and slide on some pajama pants not bothering with the hoodie since it's comfortable anyways. I flop down on my bed and as soon as I shut my eyelids I'm out like a light. Tomorrow is going to be one big day.
