College mom-to-be

Chapter 13

I just got home from school. I ignored everyone today. All the looks and faces people were giving towards me. Seriously is this high school? Cheer practice went the same way. Besides me instructing the girls on the routine I didn't talk to anyone. Adam, Kate and I decided to drive home for the weekend to visit our family and for me to tell my dad and sister, Lexie, about how I'm expecting... I invited Conner to come and he's going to meet us at our place at 6 so we can leave. I look in my closet and pull out 2 full outfits and 2 pairs of pajamas. Which in my case is shorts and a t-shirt. I packed my swimsuit just incase, then grabbed a couple pairs if shoes. I grabbed my phone charger, a couple movies, my toothbrush and toothpaste, and lastly my hairbrush. I changed into a pair of pajamas because by the time we get there I'll need to go to bed anyways. By the time I'm finished, it's 5:43. I grab my bag and purse, and walk down to Kate's jeep which I figured was the vehicle we'd be taking since my Jeep was still getting worked on and I wouldn't get it back until monday. Right after I set my stuff in the trunk of Kate's jeep Wrangler, Conner pulled in.

"Heyyy" he drug out as he hopped out of his truck.

"Hey. Ready for a 4 ½ hour drive?" I laughed. He laughed back and grabbed his bag out of the back of his truck.

"Where should I put this?" I pointed to the back of Kate's dark blue Jeep and he set his bag next to mine. Then here comes Adam and Kate running out the door of the apartment building laughing. Adam was chasing Kate with both their bags in his hand. She grabbed me and hid, using me as a shield.

"You're gonna get it!" Adam told her but she just laughed. I wasn't even going to ask what they were doing. Knowing them it'd be something goofy though. Adam set the stuff in the back on top of Conner and I's bags.

"Alright, you guys ready?" Adam asked the three of us. We all nodded and it was time to go. We hopped in the car and pulled out. Once we were on the road Adam turned up the radio and Bless The Broken Road came on. I looked up and Kate and Adam were holding hands while he drove with one hand. It was absolutely adorable. Right after I thought that Conner grabbed me from the side of the seats I was at and scooted me towards him. He rested his head in between my neck and shoulder and sung to me quietly where only I could hear him.

"That God blessed the broken road, That led me straight to you." I smiled as he intertwined my small fingers with his large ones. I had to say, he had a pretty good voice. We got onto the highway and a truck slid over right in front of us. To say my brother had a little road rage would be and understandment.

"What the hell?! I'M KINDA RIGHT HERE!" he yelled bringing his head out of the window. The three of us laughed as he looked at us annoyed.

"Are you seeing this?! That guy just went like a foot in front of me!"

I laughed, "Adam, a car could've gone in between you guys. It wasn't that close."

"Whatever. You need your eyes checked Linds." he said looking straight forward avoiding contact with me. I just laughed again and looked out the window. The sun was setting and it was beautiful. There were trees along the highway and the sky was different colors from dark blue to purple to pink to orange. It's been a while since I really just sat here ad looked at the scenery. It's already 9 o'clock and when I look over Conner is sleeping with his head up against the window. Kate was out too.

"Hey Adam. How you feelin about going to Kate's parents?" I asked him.

"I'm scared honestly." He pulled out a little box and handed it to me, "I know we haven't dated for a long time but she's the one Linds and I know it. I'm gonna ask for permission from her dad when we're there. And if he gives me the thumbs up I'm gonna ask her while we're still here." He smiled.
