I was packing the last of my clothes as Conner came up from behind me and showed me the official papers for the house. "We did it" I smiled and turned around to hug him. I picked up the last box in my room just to have it taken out of my arms. "You're 25 weeks babe. No boxes for you. The only thing you're allowed to carry is your purse." I grabbed my purse to leave and he took the bag and set it on top of the box he had in his hands. I gave him a confused and irritated look. "Look if it was up to me I'd be carrying the baby too." He said going out into the hallway and leaving out the door to go to the truck. I stepped around the room and took one last look of the apartment. I mean yeah I'll visit all the time but it'll be different because I'm not LIVING here.
Adam and Kate popped around the corner and we left and went to the truck where Conner had been patiently ready. Lexie wasn't here today because she was back home hanging out with friends for the weekend.
"You ready?" He came up to me and hugged me placing his hand on my stomach. I nodded and at that moment Mason kicked where Conner's hand was set.
"Seems to me like Mason's ready too." he laughed. He got in his truck. Adam and Kate got in hers. I got in my jeep. All vehicles packed to the ceiling with boxes and large duffel bags of Conner and I's stuff. Conner had furniture in his truck bed but I know very well that that isn't all of it, so we'll be making many trips back and forth from here and Conner's place to our new house. A short ride later and we pulled into what was now our home. I let out a breath and grabbed a bag to bring it in the house but yet again it was stolen from my hands since I "can't" carry anything. I laughed even though I was somewhat annoyed because I can handle a little weight. It's not like I picked up a box of books. Honestly it was a box of pillows actually... The boys made many trips back and forth from the houses as Kate and I unpacked clothes and put them neatly in the master bedrooms closet and in the dresser that was put in there a few minutes ago. "I can't believe you're getting married in a week Kate!" It still shocks me on how much everything is changing right now.
"I know. It's crazy. I can't believe we're not going to live with each other Lindsey bell." I laughed at the childhood name she called me. When we were little it was all about princesses and Disney anything pretty much. Anyway's my favorite Disney character was Tinker Bell.
"I know. I can't believe I'm sayin this but I'm gonna miss cooking for you Katerella." Her's was Cinderella. You might be thinking, it's only like a block away why are you making such a big deal? But you see Kate and I were neighbors growing up and then we went to college and lived together in the apartment so this is a big difference. It's 10 minutes and not 10 seconds. We laughed and I cried (stupid hormones) as we talked about all of our memories from when we first met all the way to getting ready for college. By then we had all of the clothes put away and we put all of Mason's clothes in what would be his room. We unpacked a bunch of little things like makeup and hair supplies, dishes, bedding, movies and stuff like that. The boys had all of the big stuff set up in the house like the couch that had previously been in Conners large room at the frat house. Also the bed, a couple chairs, a tv, and come other big stuff. We didn't have a dining room table though. Conner and I are going to go shopping tomorrow though.
"I don't want to leave but it's already 10 o'clock." Kate said sending off a pouty face.
"Awe okay. Don't worry you and I can go shopping Sunday for baby stuff, huh? Conner and I are going furniture shopping tomorrow so does that sound good?"
"Perfect."
"Alright now you live with her so I swear if you do anything wrong involving her just remember that I spent 5 years in the military and I'm a little handy when it comes to guns." Adam told Conner. A part of me was wanting to laugh thinking he was joking but another part of me knew he was completely serious. Conner just stood still and nodded obviously intimidated by my big brother. This really is camera worthy. If I knew this would've happened I would've grabbed my iPhone and recorded it because not once have I seen Conner like this.
