"So you hate him?"

"Did I say that?"

"No." Gustav and I made small talk while walking down the busy main strip of London with our fingers interlocked. "It just sounds like it."

"Well, I'm not." I assured. "I just don't know how to feel about the girl who is whisking my best friend away from me."

"You're so dramatic," He laughed. "Bex will always be your friend."

"Duh, he doesn't have the balls to drop me for a girlfriend. I just don't want her hogging all his time and always being around." A grave image struck my train of thought like a meteorite. "What if he asks her to move in?!"

"He won't; not without consulting the household first."

I raised my eyebrow and cocked a hip. "Are you sure about that?"

"He isn't dumb like Rayn and Wicca." I chuckled.

"Okay, you're right about that."

"So where are we going?" He was following me around like a lost puppy.

"Didn't you hear what's going on somewhere around here?"

"Um...no?"

"You didn't hear about the spring festival?" I said, not believing a word he formed and I made that pretty clear with the tone of my voice. "That's what Bex is taking that skank to."

"This weekend."

"Yeah, but it goes on this whole week. There are little markets and the park is decorated with lights and flowers and stuff. I think it's pretty and I wanted to come down here with you." We linked arms and I snuggled closer to his side, not because I'm cold. "We don't do a lot together anymore, baby."

"I know and I'm sorry." He sighed and shook his head. "It's just my music and stuff."

"I know how it is, my lovely. You're doing good."

He kissed my cheek. "Thanks babygirl."

"Remember winter fest?" Gustav brought back a marvelous memory. "Christmas was gorgeous with you, Clea. Remember when the whole town was gathered around city tree and we counted down from ten like a huge choir and at "1" they lit the tree? Remember when I kissed you exactly when the sparkling lights came on?" I couldn't help but to smile ever so widely.

"Yes, I think that was one of the best smooches we've ever shared."

"Smooch? What are you, 80?" A giggle escaped me.

"Oh yes. Sorry kiddo." I pinched his cheek in the type of manner that a grandmother would. We walked in silence for a few moments before he busted out laughing. "What?" I asked alarmed; he had startled me a bit.

"Tell me you can still recall how you met Rayn." I facepalmed.

"It's seared into my left side brain." I didn't know of a HeavyRayn or who this child was until that night. The whole population gasped as the tree, mouths gaping and eyes wide. Rayn was perched high on the top bow. The green-headed angel had sole the show. "I still don't know why he was up there."

"Bex dared him to steal the star on top as a prank." Gustav informed.

"Oh." My eyebrows were tall. "That...sounds like their friendship. Bexey's the brains and Rayn's the dumbass.

"You already know them so well."

"Of course I do, are you surprised?"

"No, they just change a whole bunch all the time."
