"I hate this. I'm a vampire, I haven't had a cold in five centuries." Rose groaned as I slid the covers of Damon's bed under her chin. Now she was a sickly pale color, with beads of sweat pouring down her face.
"Just get in bed," I said quickly and stepped back. My brain was scattered all over the place at the moment, switching through every emotion in the book. Right now, I was just tense.
"We don't get sick. When we die, it's fast and sudden and it's certainly not drawn out in illness."
"You're not gonna die." Elena assured Rose."
"Such a human thing to say." She responded as Elena looked around the room with a curious look plastered on her face.
"You've never been in Damon's room before, have you?" Rose realized. Elena takes a book from Damon's nightstand and looks at it. The cover read Gone with the Wind, a book I heard my teacher talk about. Not what you expected?
"It's just a room with a bed. Maybe I expected there to be silk sheets." Elena said, which caused us all to smile.
"You're lucky, you know. No one's ever loved me the way you're loved.: I doubt that.: Trevor was my best friend. Nothing more. I spent all those years on the run from Elijah. I just never thought it was a good idea to set up roots. The whole idea of family is not exactly compatible with being a vampire. Why are you so eager to give up?"
"I'm not giving up on anything," Elena said as she picked up a glass of blood. "Here."
"I'm gonna go downstairs and get more blood, just in case we run out up here," I said and quickly left the room. Truth is, needed to get out of the room. It was extremely gloomy and it made me feel more depressed than I had ever felt. I barely even knew Rose, but I felt utter sadness for her.
Since I had no idea where Damon and Stefan kept their blood supply, I took this time to explore the place. I walked around the hallway upstairs and looked into each door. Each room appeared to be a guest room until I got into a room at the end of the hallway. I was about to peer into until I heard some distant yells.
"It's all your fault, Katerina. You Katerina, you did this!" I heard Rose yell in the distance. I accidentally used my werewolf speed to run back into Damon's room. Rose had Elena pinned to the wall and it looked like she was about to kill her.
"It's Elena. Rose, Rose! I'm Elena!" Elena yelled, trying to snap Rose from whatever murderous mindset she was in.
"You betrayed us!" Rose yelled.
"She said she wasn't Katherine!" I charged at Rose and threw her off of Elena and pinned her to the opposite wall. Rose was obviously stronger than me, but I could at least hold her off for a little bit since she was sick.
"Elena?" Rose looked down at Elena as her vampire face disappeared.
"It's me, it's Elena."
"And Kennedy too, Hello!" I let go of Rose's arms and waved.
"Oh my god. I'm so sorry. I don't know what's happening to me. I'm sorry."
"You're gonna be alright," Elena assured Rose.
"My mind, I'm..."
"Going crazy? It was just for a second." I said.
"I'm sorry, don't be scared of me."
"I'm not. I'm not, but you need to rest." I led Rose back to Damon's bed so she could lay down.
"I'm scared," Rose confessed as Elena approached the bed.
"You're not alone. We're right here." Elena brushed Roses hair out of her face.
"Here, where's here?" Rose asked, and looked around, confused.
