A wave of uncomfortable warmth flooded through Kennedy's veins as she walked through the crowd of drunk teenagers. Damon walked alongside her, narrowing his eyes on his target. A drunken student stumbled into Kennedy causing her to push him back.

"S-sorry." The boy stammered. Kennedy merely hummed in response.

Damon kept a suspicious eye on Kennedy. "You seem different." He said plainly.

"What? You mean like getting my heart ripped out of my chest and being brought back to life by a witch, different?" Kennedy drew in a breath. "Sorry to disappoint."

Damon sighed sadly, "Not disappointed." His eyes scanned the grounds before stopping on the blonde target. "Give it up for the woman of the hour." He gestured to the Original vampire who was sitting alone by the fire.

"So what's the plan? Wooing her with your charm isn't going to get us very far." Kennedy rolled her eyes and placed her hands on her hips.

"You got a better idea?" Damon crossed his arms.

"I think so." Kennedy started walking towards Rebekah with Damon following shortly behind her.

"What's your play?" he questioned under his breath. Kennedy held her head high and continued toward the Original. Before Kennedy could address Rebekah, Damon sat beside her on a tree log.

Rebekah eyed the pair approaching her. Kennedy took a seat on the other side of the blonde. "What? No friends your own age?" She addressed the arrogant vampire.

"Like you can talk." Damon rolled his eyes.

Rebekah brought a stick with a flaming marshmallow to her lips. "Is this supposed to be fun?" She blew out the tiny flame. "I've been through ten of these."

"Ten? How long have you been living?" Kennedy questioned. She wanted to bond with her enough to distract her. "I know you're supposed to be one of the first vampires on Earth."

"Long enough." She simply answered. Damon huffed and rolled his icy blue eyes.

"Kennedy, why don't you go roast marshmallows with the other kids and let the grown-ups talk?"

"Damon you can't just-"

"Kennedy. Go. Now."

She reluctantly obeyed by standing up and observing her surroundings. Stefan and Elena stood close by, Elena staring at the trio with jealousy. Behind the two sat a pair of familiar faces by a smaller fire. She approached them with a smile.

"Miles and Ava." Kennedy huffed. "Wouldn't expect you guys to be at a school event."

"You neither," Ava replied.

"I was forced." Kennedy deadpanned.

Miles stood up. "So was I." He bent down to pick up a red solo cup that sat beside the lit fire. "I need a drink."

"So do I." Kennedy grabbed Miles' forearm and led him to a beer keg. "I need to get myself a cup."

"You can take mine." Miles handed her his empty cup. "I'll just get myself another one."

"That makes no sense whatsoever."

"Just start drinking without me." He shrugged and walked toward another table.

Kennedy watched Miles for a while before pouring herself a drink. A few more drinks. Miles made it back with his own cup and shared drinks with Kennedy. After a while, Ava wandered off with some drunken seniors.

Kennedy clutched an empty plastic cup while curling up by a small fire. "I need another one." She handed the cup to Miles.

"I think you should slow down," Miles took the cup and placed it on the floor of the woods. The cup fell over due to the uneven terrain. "You look out of it."
