Kennedy paced her friend's living room, her phone clutched under a supernatural grasp. After hearing that Kennedy was planning on attending homecoming, Damon banished her from going. She wasn't sure if he was aware that she had a date though. Nevertheless, Miles agreed to ditch the dance with her after it was relocated due to the gymnasium being flooded. Ava still wanted to attend the dance, however.

Since she wasn't going to see the "Kill Klaus" plan be executed, Kennedy asked Caroline to update her on everything through text. An uneasy feeling pulled at her, causing her to pace the room annoyingly. Miles's brow furrowed once he noted his friend's troubled countenance.

"Just looking at you is making me nervous." Miles huffed as his eyes surveyed the girl's face. "What's wrong?"

Kennedy stopped pacing and brushed her hair back with a few fingers, aiming to calm her nerves. "It's nothing." She attempted to smile which only resulted in her looking additionally anxious.

"Fine, don't tell me." Miles shrugged. "But if it's bothering you this much you should tell someone"

She knew he was right. But everyone she cared about was at the gathering so the only person she could tell was Bonnie. Bonnie didn't deserve to be plagued with whatever issues they had at the moment.

"Right," she muttered before taking a seat beside her friend on the couch. Since they concluded that they didn't need Kennedy, why would she waste her time worrying about them? Obviously, they have this under control. She put her phone face down on the coffee table that sat in the middle of the cozy living room. "So what's the plan, another movie night?"

"I was thinking that we could go on a walk first." Miles's brown hair flopped over as he stood up with a simple. He had small dimples in the crooks of his cheeks, which Kennedy had never cared to notice before. She followed him out of the back door and into the backyard. He laughed as they approached a certain hill of grass.

"What's so funny?" Her face stretched in a curious smile.

"You really don't remember, do you?" Miles questioned. He sat down on the grass with crossed legs. Kennedy sat down next to him.

"I don't remember some of that morning either." He shrugged. "Ava and I were sitting over there." He pointed at the back patio that housed a pair of lawn chairs. "We were staring off into these woods when we saw someone coming out of the trees. Ava ran over to check it out and came back with you."

"I'm confused as to where this story is going."

"You were completely naked," Miles concluded awkwardly. "We didn't ask any questions, we brought you Ava's clothes and let you crash on our couch."

Kennedy's heart dropped in embarrassment. "Why didn't you guys talk to me about it?"

"Because you never did. We figured that maybe you were too embarrassed to talk about it again, I don't know." Miles smiled plainly. "I said all this because I wanted you to know that you can trust us. You can trust me." He laid back on the hill where they sat, still holding eye contact with Kennedy. He placed his arms under his head for support. "I'm not trying to force you to talk about whatever has been bothering you, but I also don't want you to feel like you have no one to talk to."

Silence fell over Kennedy, weighing her body down with humiliation. She wasn't sure what to say at all. "I appreciate it, Miles. I don't think you'd wanna know what goes on in my mind." Kennedy laid out on the lawn as well. "Maybe one day." The sparkle in her brown eyes reflected that of Miles's.

Miles nodded in response. They both watched the stars for a while before agreeing to head back inside to watch a movie. A sense of comfort and relief washed over Kennedy while they were outside. She couldn't tell Miles about the supernatural world, but it was nice to know that he wasn't judging this new version of herself. Someone that didn't know her before she died.
