The car slowed to a stop as I slowly lifted my foot off of the brake. I reached over to the passenger seat to grab two of my bags, one filled with clothes and another filled with everything else. I left the car and walked towards the quaint Gilbert house and rang the doorbell. Elena had invited Caroline, Bonnie, and me to a slumber party to celebrate her being alive after she was missing for a day. I gladly accepted, having nothing better to do. The front door quickly opened and I was greeted with soft brown eyes and green ones.
"Hey, Kennedy, glad you could make it." Elena opened the door wider and stepped to the side, allowing me to walk in.
"Nice to see you again Kennedy," Bonnie said.
"Nice seeing you too Bonnie," I smiled, not sure if Bonnie meant it. I turned to Elena. "Where should I put my bags?" I held them up.
"In my room. Follow me." She and Bonnie started walking up the stairs which led to an upper level of doors lining the walls. She entered a room on our right which screamed it was Elena's. I placed my bag down beside a couple of others assuming they were Bonnie's.
"When is Caroline coming?" I asked no one in particular. Bonnie brought out her phone.
"She texted that she would be here in ten minutes. That was five minutes ago." She shoved her phone back into her pockets.
I found it weird that a day after Elena was taken, that there were no police investigations. Nothing on the news saying anything. Her friends were acting like it was a normal day like nothing ever happened. I didn't want to ask any question, so I kept these thoughts to myself.
The three of us sat on Elena's bed and started talking about anything. From boys to school work and then myths. Our discussion was interrupted by the incessant sound of the doorbell ring repetitively. I immediately stood up knowing it was Caroline. I actually liked her, she was a lot like Avery.
I stood back with Bonnie while Elena opened the door revealing the cheerful blonde holding 3 suitcases.
"Hey," we all screamed in unison. Caroline went around and hugged every single one of us.
"So I brought movies, beer, twister, my old journals, and popcorn. Where should we start?" Caroline gripped onto her bags, making sure they didn't fall.
"We start upstairs while the sun is still up. No need for people to walk in on a teenage girl slumber party. Then once the sun goes down and everyone else is upstairs, we come down here and watch movies and drink beer." Elena had the night all planned out and we all nodded in agreement.
The four of us walked up the stairs causing a chorus of creaking. A familiar brunette male appeared from behind a door causing Bonnie to smile.
"Could you guys be any louder?" Jeremy stated obviously annoyed.
"Yes we could Jeremy," Elena shot back. "Meet my friend Kennedy."
"We met." Jeremy plastered a fake smile, so I did the same and waved.
"Now I'd you'd excuse us we have a party to resume." Caroline continued walking into Elena's room leaving the rest of us in the hallway. Bonnie sheepishly waved to Jeremy and followed.
When we got into the room Caroline already had a bag opened that was filled with all of the things she had mentioned except beer.
"Where's the beer?" I asked, and raised an eyebrow. Caroline nodded towards another one if her suitcases. I walked over to it and opened it revealing that it was filled completely with beer bottles.
"Beautiful," I marveled and the other girls laughed. "How did you carry all of this, Caroline? With the other bags too?" Caroline's face flushed.
"Uh, I lift weights." She stuttered.
