Khalil
I was desperately trying to get in touch with Joy. I needed to talk to her asap. I called Rock first to see if Joy was there but there was no answer. When Rock did call back he told me he hadn’t seen or heard from Joy. “Are you guys having problems” he asked me.
“No not exactly. I came home and she isn’t here.”
“Oh she probably went shopping Khalil. Did she have an attitude this morning?” Rock asked
“I don’t know I haven’t been here in a few days.”
“Where you been?” Rock asked.
“With Natasha” I said. Rock was silent for so long I thought he hung up. “Rock, Rock you still there?” I asked.
“Wow you been with Natasha, why?” he asked in confusion.
“She was having a hard time so I went to her and it took me several days to get her calmed down. She refused to go back to hospital although she was clearly suicidal. So I just stayed with her until I felt she was stable. When I went to leave she had another break down. She needs me Rock and I didn’t no what else to do so I just stayed there with her.”
“That’s funny because her and Trinity are tight like glue, how come she didn’t call her Khalil?” he asked.
“I don’t know man but does it matter who she calls as long as someone is there in her time of need. Rock I couldn’t live if something happen to that girl.” I said into my cell.
“Yea the problem with that is you have to damsel in distress and one Prince charming. How you think that’s going to work out?” I shrugged my shoulders.
“Joy is a strong woman and she will understand.” I told him.
“The same Joy that drives from state to state because she has no friends and a stalker. The Joy that practically shrunk when dude called her out on her past, the chick that you told me yourself has trouble connecting with people. You telling me she will be okay with this, when you talk to her last?” I was to busy chewing on his words to answer at first because talking to him made me realize I may be in over my heard.
“A few days ago” I mumbled.
“What! Khalil you fucking up! Let me get Taylor to call her. For all you know she could have been bounced”
“If she contact her please have her call me. I need to tell her that she is here before she get home.”
“Here! Where here?” He asked and I didn’t want to even answer at that point.
“Here at the house. I needed to keep an eye on her” He didn’t say anything he just hung up in my ear. I sat back on my couch with a sudden headache.
“You okay Khalil?” Natasha asked as she walked into the living room with a pair of Joy’s shorts on. I just stared at her all crazy because I didn’t know what else to say.
“I found a pair of your moms shorts in your room. You don’t think she will mind do you.” I just stared at her because now I was thinking bringing her here was not a good idea.
‘Yea those are not my moms” I said.
“Oh whose are they” she asked?
“Natasha those belong to my girlfriend Joy.” Natasha went stiff then she sank back into the couch staring at me.
“You have a girlfriend” she asked.?
“I do and I hope you’re not upset. I just wasn’t sure how you would take it. I care about you Natasha and I want you to get better.” She said nothing she just kept staring at me. “Natasha are you okay?” I asked her.
“I’m fine. Where is she, and how does she feel about me being here?” she asked me?
“She doesn’t know you’re here yet but it will be fine. She is very reasonable.” I said to her. She gave me a weird smile and said.
“Of course she is Khalil” she looked at my oddly and then said “so where will I be sleeping because I’m pretty sure your bedroom is off limits.” She said. I underestimated her she handled this fine I thought to myself.
“Well I was thinking that maybe we should look into getting you an apartment. Joy was staying at a place where they lease month to month in fact her apartment is still open so we can ride over there and talk to the land lord” She looked sad suddenly.
“Be alone” She said biting her lip she looked at me sadly. I sighed heavily. This could get messy there really was no other way.
“Natasha I will be here for you, you know that” I said.
“What about money I can’t afford an apartment. You know this is not your problem I shouldn’t even be here.” She got up and headed for the bedroom and I grabbed her arm.
“Natasha it’s okay you don’t have to do anything alone I’m here. I will pay for everything okay.” She gave a sweet smile that said I trust you. I showed her the guest room and told her we would figure out the details later. In the meantime I went back to trying to contact Joy. After blowing her phone up a thousand times worry kicked in. What if she was upset and she left. I called my mom. “Hello” mother said answering the phone.
“Mom have you seen Joy?” I asked.
“I haven’t heard from either of you. I came by with my stick for the past three days and nobody answered!”
“THREE DAYS!” Oh hell no Joy had been gone three days. Panic started to sink in. What if she left. She had know real address she could walk out my life the same way she walked in and I would never see her again. Suddenly there was a loud commotion in the living room I ran out my room dropping my cell on the bed. The door was wide open. When I stepped on the porch Natasha was fighting some woman.
“What the hell is going on here?” I demanded pulling them apart.
“That crazy bitch was peeking through my window!” Natasha said. The woman scurried to her feet and ran.
“Do you know her” she asked?
“No I never seen her before.” This was getting crazier by the minute. Why would a strange woman be peeking through my windows. “I’m calling the police” I reached in my pocket for my cell but I realized it was in my room. I walked back in the house to my room with Natasha riding my ass. “I’m scared Khalil” as soon as I turned to face her she practically fell into my arms. “Do you think she was dangerous.” I shook my head no and the way she was digging in that ass the girl should be scared of her. Then suddenly it hit me like a light bolt. As she lay her head on my chest. Am I playing myself? Is she playing me again? If she was that would truly hurt my heart, but I had to help her right. I owed her that much. My mistake completely turned her world upside down and she was still suffering from it. Tee Tee would want me to help her cousin it was the least I could do.
