VIC'S POV

A few months passed from our first time. We went on to do it more frequently and (Y/N) eased in to the life of a non-virgin. The tour ended and our second album, Selfish Machines, passed and the tour was amazing. We decided to take a break from each other as a band before writing for the third time.

(Y/N) and I seemingly moved on from our painful past and her wrist healed up nicely. Sometimes we'd both have emotional episodes of our past, but we overcame them smoothly. The thing was...we weren't dating. She always said she was single...any time she was asked. I don't get what I'm doing wrong here.

"You ass!" She shouted as she lost to me at Mortal Kombat again.

"Can't help it!" I dropped the controller on the floor and tickled her.

"Stop!" She breathed.

"Never!" I smiled wide. Eventually I let her go.

"Am I going to sleep in your bed tonight?" She wondered.

"I don't know. It feels better to fall asleep alone because it's the only way I know." I hinted.

"I didn't mean sleep, silly!" She hit me lightly. My hopes dropped. She was only hoping to get laid again.

"Sure." I said, disappointed.

"What's wrong?" She cocked her head.

"Don't you miss me? Don't you love me back?" I gave her a concerned look.

"Vic," She began. "Of course I love you."

"Then why are you 'single'?" I used finger quotes.

"I just don't think it would last. I want someone who cares." She shrugged.

"(Y/N), I've stopped you from killing yourself twice. You think I don't care? We've been together since we were seventeen!" I complained.

"I guess." (Y/N) mumbled.

"What do you say? Will you be my girl? I'm tired of trying." I sighed pathetically.

"Alright." She looked down and smiled.

"Great." I put my hand on her leg gently.

She was back where she should be.
