Cheryl POV

Joaquin and Kevin hadn't come to school today, causing me to worry. Joaquin seemed so scared when he called me yesterday and I fear some thing bad has happened.
When the last bell goes, I change quickly into my cheer uniform, making it easier to run to Kevin's house.

I knock on the door and smile when I am greeted by Joaquin. I hug him, burrying him in layers of questions. After answering them all, he leads me upstairs where I see Kevin, wearing shorts with bandages around his thighs.
I run over to him and pull him into a tight hug, kissing his cheek. He chuckles and hugs back, smiling.

The boys and I decide to go to Pops. We all change and start to make our way there.
We are greeted by smiling Pop as soon as we step through the door. We all smile back and order milkshakes     -one cherry, one chocolate and one peanut butter.

Joaquin pays for all of us, earning a kiss on the cheek from both Kevin and I.
We stay in Pops for the next hour and it soon turns 9. Joaquin makes his way to the Southside and Kev and I walk together.

"You like him, don't you?" I say, breaking the silence. He looks at me.
"I see the way you look at him."
He blushes and looks down, causing me to smile and nudge him slightly.
"Its okay Kev, you can like whoever you want"
We smile at each other and talk about the long haired serpent until we have to split at the end of Kevin's street.

Kevin's POV

I reach my house and walk through the door, happy.
But, my happiness soon fades as I'm pushed up against a wall.

"What time do you call this?" My dad spits in my face, the smell of alcohol on his breath. "Where were you, huh? Making out with about her fag," he says louder this time.
I shake my head.
"Then what were you doing?" He yells and pushes me to the floor.

I feel tears form in my eyes.
"I was with Cheryl and Joaquin," I say quietly, not looking at him.
Then, some thing hard hits my cheek.
"Look at me when you speak!" My dad yells causing my tears to spill on my cheeks.
"Now, what were you doing?" His voice had softened but the venom had grown.
"I was at Pop's with Cheryl and Joaquin," I said trying to sound confident.

He goes silent and I slowly stand, taking my jacket off.
I'm about to go upstairs when my dad pulls my wrist towards him and looks what I had engraved into my arm and then looks at the other.
A smirk grows on his face and he looks at me with an evil glare.
With venom and evil in his voice he whispers,
"Good"
before letting my arms go
